Meet the REAL Superman
Herbert Chavez, 37, of Calamba City in the Philippines, has been undergoing surgery for the past 18 years in an effort to resemble Superman.
According to the Daily Mail, Chavez has already spent almost $7,000 on nose jobs, skin whitening, liposuction, jaw realignment and fillers, and wears bright blue contacts to look like the American superhero
He recently wanted to undergo another procedure to give him those famous abs of steel, but doctors refused to go through with the operation after learning that he had been injecting his abs and chest with an illegal filler that they described as poisonous.

Owing to his DIY fillers, Chavez was recently featured on an episode of E!’s Botched — a reality show in which surgeons attempt to fix plastic surgeries gone wrong. On the show, he said that he fell in love with the superhero growing up as a poor kid in the Phillipines. The first movie he ever watched was the 1980 film Superman II, and ever since then, he’s always wanted to become Superman and instill that same feeling of wonder in others
“I like to show to the people, especially the children of the Phillipines, that I’m here. Superman is real,” Chavez said. “What I want is to give them inspiration. To give hope.”
