Kim Richards arrives for her daughter’s birthday party at Craig’s in Beverly Hills

RHOBH Star Kim Richards Goes to Jail After Felony Charges

Oh Kim, it looks like it is time for an intervention. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Kim Richards was arrested on Sunday, August 2, after she was caught shoplifting from a Target store in San Fernando Valley, California.

Us Weekly reports that the Van Nuys Police Department arrested Richards, 50, for walking out of the store with close to $600 worth of items in her cart. The reality star was apprehended at about 4:30 p.m. in the afternoon, and placed under citizen’s arrest.

According to the Police Department, Richards spent the night in jail and was released the next morning on $5,000 bail.

Monty Brinson, Kim’s sick ex-husband, told Entertainment Tonight late Monday that he was shocked by the shoplifting claims. “I couldn’t imagine Kim stealing or shoplifting anything. She is a giver,” he told the site. “I am in complete shock. Guaranteed this must be some kind of mistake, and the facts will come out soon. She was arrested for shoplifting toys in a cart, but this was a clear misunderstanding. This was not alcohol or drug related.”

We could see how it might be a misunderstanding, but unfortunately for Richards this isn’t her first brush with the law. Just in April, the former child actress was arrested on charges of public intoxication, battery, and resisting arrest, after causing a huge scene at the Beverly Hills Hotel.

Richards then checked herself into Rehab in June. She then told ET last month that she had completed her program, and has been sober for beyond 30 days at that point.

“I went in and I got to learn a whole lot about myself,” Richards told ET of rehab. “I dug deep into my past, things that happened to me as a child, good and bad, teenage years, relationships with all my loved ones, where they need to be mended, where they’re very powerful. I worked on me.”

By the sound of it, she may need another ‘Aha moment.
