Opinion| ICYMI| Remember when Adam Schiff demanded and got the recusal of then Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, Devin Nunes?
At the time, Schiff was the committee’s ranking member.
Schiff contended that Nunes’ meetings with members of President Trump’s National Security Council in the White House SCIF, somehow violated the appearance of propriety. Nunes complied.
Here is what we believe happened next:
But Nunez only complied so long until he likely realized that President Obama had been kept abreast of the the entire scheme to destroy Donald Trump’s on a daily basis through the PDB’s he received every morning that were created for his eyes only.
I would guess that Nunes became concerned that former President Obama was possibly being updated on the progress of the anti-Trump collusion scandal inside his FBI – perhaps even directing it. And, Obama wanting to minimize the trail, could have had those updates included in the Presidential Daily Briefs that were for his eyes only. Again, this is our theory, none of this has yet to be proven, however, Paul Sperry, of Real Clear Investigations has reported that:
“Brennan put some of the dossier material into the PDB [presidential daily briefing] for Obama and described it as coming from a ‘credible source,’ which is how they viewed Steele,” said the source familiar with the House investigation. “But they never corroborated his sources.”
That would protect him from later investigations, but only if Hillary won.
I believe that the purpose of Nune’s visit was to ask permission to enter the White House Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility aka as a SCIF where the PDBs are maintained, to confirm his suspicions.
Once Schiff realized this he knew Nunes, he would have had to be silenced.
Under the pretext that Nunes was consorting with President Trump’s team, Schiff demanded Nunes recuse himself.
John Solomon explains Schiff’s pretextual excuse:
Schiff assailed Nunes’s contacts with a source outside the committee confines as “a dead-of-night excursion” and said it called into question the impartiality of the inquiry because the committee wasn’t informed.
“I believe the public cannot have the necessary confidence that matters involving the president’s campaign or transition team can be objectively investigated or overseen by the chairman,” Schiff said at the time.
Now the worm has turned. Now, even the Senate has released a report saying they found no direct evidence of “collusion” between Trump, his campaign, and Russia. We also believe with a high degree of confidence that the entire hoax was based on a phony dossier prepared for and paid by the Clinton campaign and the DNC according to President Trump:

One of the only people still claiming there’s any truth to the Trump/Russia collusion dossier is Schiff who has assumed the chairmanship of the HPSCI.
The, in our opinion, phony, dossier was created under contract between Christopher Steele and Fusion GPS.
Simpson later promoted the dossier to law enforcement agencies and to the media.
And now photographs have surfaced of Schiff meeting with the Founder of Fusion GPS, Glenn Simpson.
In light of the high standard Schiff demanded of Nunes, and the fact that the only wrongdoing that remains a possibility appears to have been committed by Trump’s opponents, of which Schiff is one, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is demanding answers from Schiff.
McCarthy:
“Given Chairman Schiff’s previous underlying rationale when calling for others to recuse themselves from Russia-related investigations, in order to avoid charges of hypocrisy or perceived bias, should Chairman Schiff recuse himself from his intended investigations after meeting with a witness of an ongoing investigation?”
… “virtually unprecedented … that a now Chairman of an investigative committee would seek direction from a fatally biased witness who was actually paid by political opponents to uncover dirt on the President.”
