On Tuesday, Democratic California Representative Maxine Waters made an appearance on MSNBC’s “All In” to slam the Department of Justice.
During her time on the air, Waters stated that “in light of the of The Washington Post report that special counsel Robert Mueller told Attorney General William Barr his summary ‘did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance’ of the probe, Barr should resign or be impeached,” according to Breitbart News.
Waters went on to say:
“I think that Barr should resign. If he does not resign, he should be facing impeachment proceedings also. He has abdicated on his responsibility. He’s lied. He has used the very words coming right out of the president’s mouth, ‘no collusion, no collusion, no collusion.’ And made a decision that despite what the counsel put into that report about obstruction of justice, he said he made the decision that he had not obstructed justice. It is outrageous, and he needs to go.”
This isn’t the first time Waters has bashed Attorney General Barr.
On April 18, Fox News reported:
The California Democrat trashed the attorney general Wednesday night on the eve of Special Counsel Mueller’s report being released to the public, calling Barr “a lackey and a sycophant” for President Trump.
“He has proven himself. He auditioned for this job. He was chosen to protect the president of the United States and that’s exactly what he’s doing. I’m not surprised.”
Waters went on to label Barr as “basically a lackey and a sycophant for the president of the United States of America.”
Waters’ comments came after she attacked the Attorney General during a speech earlier in April.
“I know that you are all worried about the special counsel and the fact that we have a report that has been described to us in a letter by the attorney general.
We don’t know what’s in the report yet, and we’re going to demand it,” she stated during her speech at a Woman’s National Democratic Club dinner.
During the very same speech, Waters claimed that President Trump “certainly, he conspired with the Kremlin and with the oligarchs of Russia.”
