Trump’s Mexican Tariff Plan Works Immediately As Mexican Police Get Into Physical Altercations While Stopping Illegal Caravan On It’s Way To The US

A few days ago, when President Trump announced that he would be placing new tariffs on goods coming to the US from Mexico, the predictable groans and whining could be heard emanating from the swamp.

Trump got push-back not only from the socialists on the left that consider Mexico a big part of their voting demographic, but from the swamp-rinos also.

It seems that nobody in Washington has the stones to step up and make the hard decisions when it comes to the invasion happening on our southern border. Nobody but Trump, that is.

So, it’s hard not to see this as a major win for President Trump’s strategy to choke Mexico until they do what they are supposed to do as a good neighbor and ally. Stop escorting these caravans from their southern border to crossing points into the United States.

A large contingent of Mexican law enforcement officers intercepted a caravan of roughly 1000 Central American migrants traveling along a highway in southern Mexico on Wednesday.

This much-intensified patrol from Mexico was put in place at the exact same time as President Trump was threatening to impose these new and increasing tariffs on Mexico. Tariffs that would be put in place unless the country strengthens their efforts to stop the flow of migrants coming across the US-Mexico border.

This caravan that was intercepted by the Mexican law enforcement officers consisted of many women and children. They had departed early in the morning from Ciudad Hidalgo at the Mexico-Guatemala border en route Tapachula. But they were stopped 11 miles short of the town by authorities.

The standoff between the caravan and the police turned physical and emotions flared. Some migrants were wrestled to the ground by unarmed agents, and others fled into the nearby forest.

One photo from the scene shows a migrant with an apparent head injury being helped by a federal police officer.

When all of the chaos settled down, 420 of the migrants were willfully taken to a nearby migrant detention.

Wednesday’s standoff took place simultaneously as Mexican officials met with Vice President Mike Pence in an attempt to hash out a deal to avoid the threatened tariffs.

Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said he was optimistic that the talks could end in an agreement.

Do you believe that this is a win for President Trump? How do you think his opponents are going to react to this news regarding the intercepted caravan? We look forward to seeing what your thoughts are about this issue. Please feel free to leave your comments at the end of the article.
