ELDER PATRIOT – OPINION – I like Rush Limbaugh. He’s been, and remains, an important part of our movement. But, under no circumstances should we deluded into believing his assessment that establishmentarian Republicans are simply too cowed to fight Democrats and their media allies.
Rush’s description of a feckless Republican contingent may suffice for those in Rio Linda. It doesn’t hold water for those who have been in the trenches with and against them.
Having worked on primary campaigns in the attempt to unseat these so-characterized “genteel” Republicans, I can tell you their fighting skills are highly-honed. Beneath their highly-polished exteriors, they can be, and generally are, ruthless in the pursuit of power.
Having sat across conference tables from the likes of former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan, I can tell you they’re more than capable of holding their own against anyone, when they want to.
The real knock on these Decepticons isn’t that they aren’t tough fighters, it’s that they were elected not there to fight for us but to fight for the financial interests for those who share the most money with them.
Rush’s defense of these decepticons just doesn’t stand up to the smell test. So what does?
For the answer let’s recall an old joke that goes something like this:
A portly, balding, not too attractive multi-millionaire is at a cocktail party when he somehow finds himself standing next to a stunningly beautiful woman.
Man to woman: My but you’re very beautiful. Would you have sex with me for $1,000,000.00?
Woman: Yes, I would.
Man: Would you have sex with me for $5.00?
Woman: What do you think I am?
Man: That’s already been decided, we’re just haggling over the price.
That story takes on more significance as we watch the NBA, and its mega-star Lebron James grovel before communist China like high-priced hookers satisfying the perverse desires of their married clients.
The woke LeBron conveniently dismissed any discussion of the ChiComs’ jackbooted treatment of the freedom protesters in Hong Kong or the estimated 1 to 3 million Uighurs being kept in concentration camps by the totalitarian regime.
Or, as Breitbart reported, threats by Chinese dictator Xi Jinping that anti-communist dissidents and anyone defying China’s illegal territorial claims will have “their bodies smashed and bones ground to powder.”
The only things that mattered to LeBron were the $1.5 Billion reasons his league had to ignore those inconvenient realities. LeBron’s corporate sponsor Nike has an estimated $40 Billion riding on protecting their relationship with ChiComs.
Unlike Liberals, who would have ripped their conservative counterparts if they were given this opportunity, Republican leadership remained pretty much silent.
You can choose to believe that’s because, as Rush has told us countless times over three decades, Republicans are content having second-class status to keep from being banned from the D.C. cocktail party circuit.
Or, you can consider the greater likelihood that Democrats and Republicans together are nothing but expensive whores – sellouts to the seductive siren’s song of UniParty money.
“Our movement is about replacing a failed and corrupt establishment with a new government, controlled by you the American people.
“The Washington establishment and the financial and media corporations that fund it exists for only one reason, to protect and enrich itself.
“The establishment has trillions of dollars at stake in this election for those who control the levers of power in Washington.
“And for the global special interests they partner with, these people that don’t have your good in mind, our campaign represents a true existential threat…
Recall how Republican leadership stood with Democrats in opposition to candidate, and then President Trump. There wasn’t the usual “100 day honeymoon.” Not even from Republicans.
With the help of the corporate media, they were successful in driving Trump’s approval numbers down. However, in the process, Congressional and Senatorial Republicans became even more unpopular among their base than they had made Trump.
Trump only gained support from Republicans out of the necessity to preserve the false left-right paradigm.
Defending supposedly ‘weak- willed’ Republicans because they’re a better alternative than leftist Democrats misses the point. History shows us they’re not. Voting for them only perpetuates the fraud that has left our country almost $23 Trillion dollars in debt.
Visionary leaders like President Trump come along once in a generation. Don’t waste this opportunity by saddling President Trump with the same Decepticons after 2020.
There’s a primary process for a reason. Get involved. Don’t let them take the opportunity to Make America Great Again away from us.
