Opinion| Lawrence David| You can tell the growing desperation of the Deep State because their wholly owned public relations media assets have started making incoherent arguments.
NBC’s Chuck Todd went off the rails this past Sunday denigrating Trump supporters in an attempt to convince the dwindling number of those voters still against the president that they are the smart ones.
Todd, who has shown himself to be little more than an attack dog trained on conservative targets, used a segment of the show he hosts, Meet the Press, to read selected excerpts from a nearly year old letter to the editor to slander Trump’s supporters.
The letter is presented below with the portions Todd read on air highlighted in bold:
A FAIRYTALE WORLD
The question of the decade is: Why do people support President Donald Trump?
We all know why white supremacists do, that is obvious. But why do good people support Trump? It’s because people have been trained from childhood to believe in fairy tales.
From childhood, they were told stories that were fascinating but simply not true. This set their minds up to accept things that make them feel good. Later in life some people mature, study facts and cause and effect, and start thinking more logically, even if the results are undesirable.
So you have this population that loves Trump because he makes them feel good. The more fairy tales and lies he tells the better they feel. Trump is a master liar who knows what makes people feel good and that is what he goes with. Sure, it would be nice if climate change did not exist.
Show me a person who believes in Noah’s ark and I will show you a Trump voter. There are multiple solid scientific reasons the ark did not happen. Some people learn this and some don’t, and those who don’t will accept Trump. But can the world survive on fairy tales?

So we’re the ones who believe in Fairy tales?
What do you call Democrats who believe their candidates can give them free healthcare? Free college? A guaranteed living wage for nothing in exchange? All while ending our use of fossil fuels and rebuilding every building in America to be green?
We’re $23 Trillion in debt with virtually all of that debt being amassed since Demorat Lyndon Johnson first started promising “free stuff” in exchange for votes in 1964.
Trump hasn’t promised anything for free. Now, that would be a fairy tale. He promised a return of American industry and with it, jobs. The CBO projected at best 2 million new jobs could be created during the first three years of his presidency.
Instead, President Trump’s policies have led to the creation of 7 million jobs. Seven million people are back at work, real wages are rising for the first time in two decades, and Schmuck Todd calls this a fairy tale?
The fairy tale, was Barack Hussein Obama telling us those jobs were not coming back. Could never come back. Actually, that line of bullshit was more akin to a nightmare.
Addressing nightmares that don’t exist, or needn’t be, always seem to be at the heart of the Democrats’ political posturing. It’s Chicken Little politics at its worst.
Todd purposefully avoided reading the part about white supremecists that started the writer’s diatribe. Perhaps because that portended the writer’s biased slant.
Regardless, no matter how hard they try to keep that worn accusation alive, ever greater numbers of minorities are rejecting it as three polls within the past two months indicate.
After three years of attempting to define Donald Trump as a racist and a bigot, it appears that Todd and his comrades in the Marxist media have failed.
Record employment across virtually every minority demographic has relegated charges of bigotry against Trump… well, as a fairy tale.
If this is a fairy tale, give us more of it. Afterall, America was founded on a dream.
