Former vice president Joe Biden says he will refuse any subpoena requiring him to testify in the impeachment hearing.
He says that asking him to testify is a diversion for President Trump. That is not true.
It is relevant that Hunter Biden accompanied father Joe to Ukraine and got a lucrative contract that paid him with laundered money.
He then accompanied his father to China, and days later he got a 1.5 billion dollar contract with the Bank of China, closely tied to the Chinese government.
No experience and a history of drug abuse are not typically what companies are looking for.
The fact that Trump delayed aid to Ukraine because they have proven to be corrupt is extremely relevant, and should he not testify, he should be hit with the same obstruction charge leveled against the president.
The real reason he will refuse to testify is that he would be under oath, and he doesn’t know what investigators have found out yet.
He does not want to leave himself open to perjury charges that could derail his run for the Democratic nomination.
Democratic presidential candidate and former Vice President Joe Biden asked the Des Moines Register’s editorial board to “examine their conscience” in an interview posted Friday, after the newspaper’s executive editor pressed the former senator on his vow not to comply if he is called to testify before the upper chamber as part of the impeachment trial against President Donald Trump.
The Register’s executive editor, Carol Hunter, asked Biden about his previous declaration that he would not show up if the Senate calls him to testify, asking the candidate, “Do you stand by your earlier statements that you wouldn’t comply if you were subpoenaed to testify in an impeachment trial before the Senate?”
“Correct,” Biden responded. “And the reason I wouldn’t, is because it’s all designed to deal with Trump doing what he’s done his whole life. Trying to take the focus off him. The issue is not what I did. Not a single person, not one single person — even that thug [Rudy] Giuliani and his compatriots — have said I did anything other than my job.”
