There seems to be a disconnect between IG Michael Horowitz and AG Bill Barr over whether the FBI had enough proof to get a FISA warrant against Carter Page.
We should have seen this coming. Remember Horowitz was assigned by Jeffrey Sessions who had a knack for appointing do nothing investigators.
You have to wonder what the Democrats had on him.
It’s hard to mess up so badly unintentionally.
It appears that Horowitz’s report is a dud and found only one FBI lawyer committed any wrongdoing.
It’s hard to explain how you can get four FISA warrants against Carter Page without the finding of a single crime.
I think Barr has known the IG was unreliable from the very beginning which is why he appointed no nonsense John Durham to conduct his own investigation.
Democrats will use to say that Barr is acting as Trump’s legal counsel and not as the attorney general.
But, when so many members of the Deep State sign off on FISA applications using the easily debunked Steele dossier it gives one a clear picture of what was really going on.

Attorney General William Barr disagrees with a key conclusion from the Justice Department inspector general’s investigation regarding the origins of the Trump-Russia probe, according to a new report.
The Washington Post, citing anonymous sources familiar with the matter, reports that Barr has told associates that he does not believe that the FBI had enough information to justify opening a counterintelligence investigation into Trump campaign associates in July 2016.
Michael Horowitz, the inspector general, reportedly determined that the bureau had a solid legal basis to launch the investigation, which initially focused on four Trump campaign associates.
Peter Strzok, the former FBI counterintelligence official who was fired last year over anti-Trump text messages, opened the investigation on July 31, 2016 after the FBI received information from the Australian government regarding an Australian diplomat’s May 10, 2016 meeting with George Papadopoulos, a Trump campaign adviser.
