The forthcoming Inspector General’s (IG) report is making a lot of Democrats in Washington nervous.
Some are taking an offensive approach, kinda like James Comey and John Brennan, who think that if they give their lying version of events first it will stave off any problems they may face in the near future.
Lisa Page, the fired and disgraced former FBI agent Peter Strzok’s lover (not his wife) gave her first public interview with the Daily Beast’s Molly Jong Fast, an uber leftist Twitter celebrity, who is not shy of make outrageous statements and making fun of conservative brain cancer victims, in an effort to do some damage control.
Among other things we can learn from page’s Daily Beast interview are the following:
Page is speaking up because Donald Trump made fun of her: I asked her why she was willing to talk now. “Honestly, his demeaning fake orgasm was really the straw that broke the camel’s back,” she says.
The president called out her name as he acted out an orgasm in front of thousands of people at a Minneapolis rally on Oct. 11. “I had stayed quiet for years hoping it would fade away, but instead it got worse,” Lisa says. “It had been so hard not to defend myself, to let people who hate me control the narrative. I decided to take my power back.”
Her main problem there is that she can’t defend herself. She is a despicable person, who was rightly so held to a higher standard when she served as a DOJ attorney, and she blew it.
Page is displaying a pattern of what psychologists call “disengagement.” It’s what guilty people often do to try to weasel out of trouble.
They convince themselves that they’re victims, and not the villains, by redefining their deviant behavior.
They try to convince others that their behavior was innocuous or even moral conduct. They minimize and rationalize reprehensible acts while distorting the truth.
In the process, they cleverly shift the fault to others and with a sense of righteous indignation claim their innocence. Page is engaging in a classic case of disengagement.

She denies any wrongdoing: “…it’s also very intimidating because he’s still the president of the United States. And when the president accuses you of treason by name, despite the fact that I know there’s no fathomable way that I have committed any crime at all, let alone treason, he’s still somebody in a position to actually do something about that. To try to further destroy my life. It never goes away or stops, even when he’s not publicly attacking me.”
Page tried to destroy Donald Trump’s life by participating in the first attempted government coup when the Obama administration interfered in the 2016 election and then tried to cover it up with a phony Mueller investigation into Russian collusion. Page is not innocent in any of it. She knew what was happening, actively participated in it, and is now trying to gain sympathy.
She claimed to associate with the following: “[my role]…gives me a lot of exposure to senior FBI executives, as well as leaders through the IC, DOJ, and White House.”
“Exposure” with some more than others. Eh hem…
She repeats the myth that Papadopoulos started the Russia investigation against the Trump campaign: “There are two things that happen in the late summer of 2016,” Page says. “The first, of course, is that the FBI gets the predication [courtesy of loose-lipped George Papadopoulos], which starts the Russian investigation. We learn about the possibility that there’s someone on the Trump campaign coordinating with the Russian government in the release of emails, which will damage the Clinton campaign.”
This is a lie. The whole thing started when the Obama administration sent Stephan Halper to speak with Papadopoulos to set him up. When Halper made certain assumptions, saying, “Oh, it’s great that Russia is helping you and your campaign, right George?” Papadopoulos replied, “I have no idea what the hell you are talking about. What you are talking about is treason. And I have nothing to do with that, so stop bothering me about it.” That part of the conversation was omitted from evidence used against Papadopoulos.
These are professional career federal law enforcement types who know exactly how to set someone up. Page and Strzok are caught in text messages referring to an “insurance policy” if Trump wins. That insurance policy was the setup of Papadopoulos to help kick start a phony investigation into the Trump campaign to make accusations that would help cover up their spying.
She falsely denies any spying on the Trump campaign, which a number of FISA warrants beg to differ with: “There are two things that happen in the late summer of 2016,” Page says. “The first, of course, is that the FBI gets the predication [courtesy of loose-lipped George Papadopoulos], which starts the Russian investigation. There was no predication for spying. You can’t claim there was no spying and that an “investigation” was properly predicated when you send in spies (Halper, Joseph Mifsud, and God knows how many others) to talk to someone in the Trump campaign. It’s really that simple.
She says she was blind-sighted by being put under investigation: “At the end of July in 2017, I am informed by the DOJ Inspector General’s Office that I’m under investigation for political text messages and honestly, I have no idea what they’re talking about,” she told me. “I have no recollection. And initially they’re very coy about it. They don’t tell me much about it. I don’t have the first clue what they’re talking about. What I do know is that my text messages will reveal that I had previously had an affair…” Jong Fast adds that Page “doesn’t think for a minute that her texts with Peter Strzok are too political.”
Another lie. She and Strzok exchanged over 50,000 text messages, on government devices, about taking Trump down, insulting the candidate and his supporters, all 63 million American, and she expects us to believe she has no recollection? As for not being political, Page texted her lover about Trump, He’s not ever going to become president right? Right?! And that’s when Strzok replied, “No. No he’s not. We’ll stop it.” Nah, that doesn’t sound political. #SMH
She doesn’t believe she did anything wrong: She is convinced that she’s followed the rules. She is, after all, a lawyer and knows that she is a restricted employee under the Hatch Act and can’t engage in partisan political activity. Molly’s logic here is hysterical, amounting to “Lisa Page wouldn’t have done anything wrong because she knows that laws exist.” Page concurs, that ” I know I’m a federal employee, but I retain my First Amendment rights. So I’m really not all that worried about it.”
Well, we all know that she really is worried about it, or else she would have sat down with Brett Baier of Fox News instead of the softball pitcher Molly Jong Fast of the Internet’s most left-wing propaganda site. You will never find Lisa Page sitting down for an interview with Mark Levin, I can safely make that prediction.
There is no credible scenario in which Page, who had been involved in the investigations into Hillary Clinton’s e-mail server and Trump’s “collusion,” is nothing more than an innocent, upstanding professional.
