President’s Counsel Calls on Nadler to End “Unjust Highly Partisan Attempt at Impeachment” in History

The White House on Friday sent a severely critical letter to House Judiciary Committee Chairman, Jerry Nadler (D-NY), who is presiding over Impeachment hearings against President Donald J. Trump.

Friday, Dec. 6th, was the deadline set by Nadler for Trump and counsel to respond about whether or not they would participate in Judiciary committee proceedings on Impeachment.

“As you know, your impeachment inquiry is completely baseless and has violated basic principles of due process and fundamental fairness,” White House Counsel, Pat Cipollone, wrote. “Nevertheless, the Speaker of the House yesterday ordered House Democrats to proceed with articles of impeachment before your Committee has heard a single shred of evidence.”

“House Dems have wasted enough of America’s time with this charade,” Cipollone said. “You should end this inquiry now and not waste even more time with additional hearings,”he wrote.

In the letter, Cipollone quoted the following Trump tweet:

Read the short, two-paragraph  Letter-to-Nadler.

Nadler responded to the letter with a statement, “Having declined this opportunity, the President cannot claim that the process is unfair. The President’s failure will not prevent us from carrying out our solemn constitutional duty,” he wrote.

Also Friday, Rep. Doug Collins, (R-Georgia) sent requests to Nadler to call Hunter Biden, Adam Schiff, the Whistleblower, Devon Archer, Nellie Ohr, and Alexandra Chalupa as witnesses in what Collins blasted as “unfair” impeachment hearings.

Collins wrote in the letter that he wanted the three called as fact witnesses:

“Chairman Schiff failed to provide protections during his phase of this ‘impeachment inquiry.’ Rather than ‘due process quadrupled,’ he provided zero due process to the President. We hope that changes now that the “impeachment inquiry” has finally come to the Judiciary Committee — the committee that historically has handled the entire impeachment process in the House of Representatives.

Thus far, the only witnesses Chairman Schiff has permitted to testify publicly are those he has previously vetted and approved in a private deposition setting. He did not permit Republicans or the President to call any additional witnesses. We hope that will change,” Collins wrote.

Trump posted Friday night that Nadler had not had a single fact witness testify.  “Zero Substance-Country wants #USMCA and Growth! Not Impeachment,” Trump said.
