Joe Biden, Former Vice President, and 2020 Presidential Candidate made shocking statements about having private meetings with the President of China, Xi Jinping, during the same event where he bragged about his corrupt behavior in Ukraine.
A video snippet has emerged, thanks to Raheem Kassam, co-host of the War Room Impeachment Podcast, showing Biden saying, he alone has met with the Communist Chinese Leader more than anyone else.
Biden took the opportunity in 2018, while at an event, to brag and expose his potential corruption in China, and said, “I’ve spent a lot of time—apparently, I was told by the folks at State—I’ve spent more time in private meetings with Xi Jinping than any world leader. I have 25 hours of private dinners with him, just he and I, and one interpreter.”
The flippant comments bring new scrutiny on Biden who traveled to China in 2013, on official business and took his son Biden, who was starting a Chinese private equity fund at the time. Hunter Biden has acknowledged meeting with Jonathan Li, a Chinese banker and his partner in the fund during the 2013 trip.
In context, the remarks about meeting with Jinping were made when Biden was bragging at the Council of Foreign Relations about holding back 1 Billion dollars in aid if Ukraine didn’t fire the prosecutor at the time who was investigating Hunter’s business deals there.
The video snippet about private meetings with the Communist leader comes at a time when President Donald J. Trump, Biden’s opponent who Biden is trying to impeach, is days away from meeting a December 15th deadline on whether or not he will apply tariffs on Chinese goods.
According to the Council of Foreign Relations, the event where Biden bragged so boldly about his corrupt behavior was a Livestream from January 23, 2018, and highlighted, “Coauthors Joe Biden and Michael Carpenter discuss the article, ‘How to Stand Up to the Kremlin: Defending Democracy Against Its Enemies,’ which appears in the January/February issue of Foreign Affairs,” CFR wrote.
