OPINION – Mark Sidney| As each day passes it looks like we are coming closer and closer to another American Civil War. Some have even argued that we are currently in a ‘cold civil war’, and quite frankly, I think I agree with that contention.
For those of you who have not been staying up on the situation in Virginia, the once red state was recently ‘flipped’ blue, a result of heavy immigration, and changing demographics, accuse many on the right.
Virginia’s Democrat Governor, affectionately known to those of us on the right as ‘blackface baby killer’, for the picture that Patrick Howley released that purports to show the Democrat Governor dressed in ‘blackface.’
According to Billboard.com:
‘Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam has admitted to wearing blackface while dressing up like Michael Jackson at a dance contest around the time he was in medical school. Northam made the admission Saturday (Feb. 2) at a press conference where he denied being in a photo that shows a man in blackface standing next to someone in a Ku Klux Klan costume.’
Northam’s comments about keeping babies ‘comfortable’ after they were born, while the doctor and parents presumably discussed if they still wanted to ‘kill’ (my words, not the Governators) the child … after it was out of the mother. A lot of people would call that INFANTICIDE, because it is … in my view.
Not to get off on a tangent here buuuuut (here comes the tangent) I add ‘in my view’ because the way the Facebook ‘fact checking’ system works, if I have an opinion that one of their fact checkers does not like, that 3rd party ‘thought cop’ has the ability to basically bankrupt our business, with essentially zero recourse available to publishers. Even if the ‘fact checker’ admits they got it wrong in marking my content false, I still lose access to Facebook’s monetization tools and my reach gets crushed, sometimes for a short period, others for longer. If you think this is just a ‘flaw’ or oversight within the system, I have a famous bridge to sell you.
Anyway, back to the impending civil unrest in Virginia. So the Democrats took both chambers of the Virginia legislature last November and have since made some of the most tyranical moves against their citizen’s 2nd Amendment rights we have seen in sometime, and seeing as these are God given, unalienable rights, many natives are restless.
To make matters worse:
‘On Thursday, lawmakers in the state Senate passed an the first pair of bills in a wave of gun-control legislation that is set to come up for votes. One bill would restore the state’s previous one-handgun-a-month rule, while the second would allow local governments to ban guns in public buildings, parks and at permitted events — including political protests. The vote was straight party line, 21-19.
Democrats have also proposed an assault weapons ban, red flag laws and universal background checks.
Gov. Ralph “Blackface” Northam immediately banned all guns ahead of Monday’s pro-gun rally, citing “credible and serious threats.” Virginia is an “open-carry” state, meaning residents don’t even need a concealed-carry permit but can rather just wear a gun openly.
“We have no intention of calling out the National Guard,” Northam said. “We’re not going to cut off people’s electricity. We’re not going to go door to door and confiscate people’s weapons. We’re going to pass common sense legislation that will keep guns out of dangerous hands and keep Virginia safer.”
A Virginia judge on Thursday ruled that a firearms ban can remain in place during the pro-gun rally on the Capitol grounds in Richmond. Thousands are expected to attend. Gun rights advocates appealed the ruling.‘ The Gateway Pundit explained.
“Without relief from this court, petitioners and thousands of other rally participants will be irreparably denied their right to bear arms,” the groups’ attorneys stated in their appeal.
With Democrats in control of both legislative chambers, Republicans can do little but complain. “Ladies and gentlemen, this is probably the first assault on the Second Amendment. And we’re going to see many after that,” Republican Sen. Bill Stanley stated.
Stanley argued that the bill, which handed localities authority over guns in public spaces would create “little pockets here and there where guns are good and guns are bad.”
However, Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring tried to persuade the state Supreme Court on Friday to reject the appeal.
“Determined to prevent another tragedy, the Governor issued a carefully limited Executive Order. The Order does not prevent anyone from speaking, assembling, or petitioning the government. Instead, it temporarily precludes private possession of firearms in a sensitive public place during a specified time to protect public safety and safeguard the rights of all citizens to peacefully speak, assemble, and petition their government,” Herring BS’ed via a legal brief.
“The plaintiffs argued the firearms ban violates the First and Second Amendments and that Northam didn’t have the authority to impose it. According to The Associated Press, Judge Joi Taylor said in her ruling the governor has the authority under state law to take action related to the “safety and welfare” of the state. Taylor also cited rulings from the U.S. Supreme Court that the right to bear arms can be subject to limits,” CBS News stated.
I do not think the Democrats know what they are dealing with on this one. Yes, the power structure has convinced a lot of people that the state is their mommy and daddy and that guns are bad, and when it comes to the atrocities that have followed gun restrictions in the past in other regimes, convinced many that, ‘that could never happen here.’
The bad news is that it can happen here, and it will happen here if we allow our God given right to keep and bear arms to be pissed away. It may not happen tomorrow, it may not happen next year, but it will eventually happen, mark my words.
And let me be clear, the 2nd Amendment is not about hunting, it is about stopping a tyranical government from infringing on your rights.
One needs to look no further than the State Flag of Virginia for evidence of this:
The flag reads ‘Sic Semper Tyranis’ which is Latin for DEATH TO TYRANTS. It also features a citizen standing upon a dead tyrant holding a spear. Again, I am in no way advocating violence, in fact I am against using violence, but I think the Virginia lawmakers would do well to think about what their flag represent and why the men who designed and adopted this flag thought these ideals to be so important as to make them the symbol of the state.
Please join us for praying for the safety of the people in Virginia. Let’s also say a prayer that those misguided politicians who perhaps unknowingly, have wondered down a very slippery slope, one that almost certainly leads to civi unrest and God knows what else. Let us ask God to grant them the wisdom they need to reverse this course of events before it is too late.
