Well, it’s about time! House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has announced on Friday that she will take steps next week to send the two impeachment articles to the Senate, after delaying the process from last month in an effort to dictate to the White House and the Senate how she wants the trial to be conducted. In other words, Pelosi wanted to hold up the trial until she was convinced that the trial would be rigged to get the outcome she wants.
“I have asked Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler to be prepared to bring to the Floor next week a resolution to appoint managers and transmit articles of impeachment to the Senate. I will be consulting with you at our Tuesday House Democratic Caucus meeting on how we proceed further,” Pelosi, D-Calif., wrote in a letter to colleagues.
Pelosi added she will talk to the caucus at their weekly meeting Tuesday morning on “how to proceed further.”
What’s there to proceed? They impeached the president who did nothing wrong. They lied, cheated, and broke laws to get him impeached. Their job is done. The only thing to do is follow the law and hand over the articles.
Senate Republicans need to read the articles to make sure the Democrats didn’t add things or remove things from the documents. They’ve cheated in every other way, so they’re not the be trusted here either. They’ve made a mockery of our Constitutional system.
Pelosi was basically forced to cave, because fellow Democrats in recent days were voicing their own frustration at the stunt she’s been trying to pull. Pelosi actually thought she had some kind of leverage over Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to extort a rigged trial. What kind of leverage did she think she had, that Republicans would be upset over not having a trial that they already believe is ridiculous?
Even so, it makes you wonder what they’re up to. Why wait until next Friday? Technically, the articles should not change between now and then, so it makes you question what trickery are they going to do between now and then? They are not to be trusted even a little bit.
When McConnell was asked about Pelosi’s move to transfer the articles on Friday he responded by saying “About time.”

Pelosi nevertheless defended her approach in the memo, stressing important new information on the Ukraine controversy at the heart of impeachment that emerged during the interim.
“I am very proud of the courage and patriotism exhibited by our House Democratic Caucus as we support and defend the Constitution,” she wrote. She continued to press the Senate, as she has for weeks, to conduct a “fair trial” with witnesses and documents.
“In an impeachment trial, every Senator takes an oath to ‘do impartial justice according to the Constitution and laws.’ Every Senator now faces a choice: to be loyal to the President or to the Constitution,” she wrote. “No one is above the law, not even the President.”

The sheer gall of this lunatic Pelosi knows no bounds. In recent days she demandedthat McConnell reveal the resolution that would set the terms for the trial before she would transmit the articles over to the Senate.
The Constitution clearly spells out that the House has sole power over impeachment and the Senate has sole power over the trial. Pelosi has been trying to dictate to the Senate how they are to conduct the trial. Her actions could be construed as an abuse of power, which is what one of the articles charged the president, even though he never abused his power at all. The whole thing has been a colossal waste of time.
Democrats want McConnell to give a commitment to call witnesses that the Democrats hand-picked, more-than-likely either worthless or willing to lie, and for McConnell to give them the details of how the trial will be conducted, before Pelosi hands over the articles, so that she can make further demands on the Senate. The woman is a menace.
To his credit, McConnell wouldn’t budge, and asserted his Constitutional authority by saying that the Senate will first launch the trial, and then tackle the issues regarding witnesses later. The majority leader said he will not “haggle” with Pelosi as he accused her of playing “irresponsible games.”
We are in a war for the soul of the nation. The Democrats have clearly given up on democratic values and the fundamental rule of law that our country was founded on. They right to rig everything, from the 2020 election, to judicial nominations, and now an impeachment trial.
The Democrats will more-than-likely lose the House in November and I for one hope they don’t get it back for at least 50 years. They are so corrupt they cannot be trusted to run anything.
