VIDEO: Ricky Gervais Makes “Epstein Didn’t Kill Himself” Joke at Golden Globe

United Kingdom comedian, Ricky Gervais, who has recently fallen into disrepute among the woke crowd for his stances against certain aspects of progressive politics, made an “Epstein Didn’t Kill Himself” joke at the Golden Globes to a stunned audience whose reaction was audibly polarized, split between discontent and disbelief.

In an expletive-laden monologue at the annual ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, Gervais ended his speech by telling those present at the ceremony, “Accept your award, thank your agent, thank God and f— off,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The short clip begins referring to another show, Afterlife, which seemingly ended on a cliffhanger as a second season was being made, after a man contemplated suicide following his wife’s death, Gervais told the crowd, “Spoiler alert: so in the end, he obviously didn’t kill himself, just like Jeffrey Epstein.”

At first, members of the crowd are heard to be awkwardly laughing interspersed with some incredulous sighs.

Gervais, hosting the event for the fifth time, continued: “shut up, I know he’s your friend, but I don’t care.”

At this point, some members of the crowd look uneasy and the laughter slowly subsides.

“You had to make your own way here with your own plane, didn’t ya,” Gervais finished.

Gervais suggested that the Golden Globes were old-fashioned and should just thank Netflix and get on with it.

The #MeToo campaign and other contemporary issues were also touched upon.

Referring to top film executives present at the awards ceremony, he said, “but they all have one thing in common: They’re all terrified of Ronan Farrow.

Gervais added, “He’s coming for you, he’s coming for you.”

Alluding to so-called “cancel culture,” he said: “Kevin Hart [lost] his job [as Oscars host] for 10-year-old tweets that he said he was sorry about and deleted at the time.”

“So there’s more pressure on making [the jokes politically correct]. It’s the world [watching]. This isn’t me in a comedy club.”

This year’s Golden Globes marked the 77th award ceremony.
