Dan Bongino On Multiple City Riots: ‘This Isn’t a Protest Anymore, This is a Coup’

On Sunday, former Secret Service Agent and NYPD officer Dan Bongino responded to the violent riots that have broken out all across the country in protest of the death of a George Floyd, a black Minneapolis man, while in police custody, saying, “This isn’t a protest anymore, this is a coup.”

“This is an organized internal coup by a small group of agitators acting as a domestic terror group. That’s a fact,” Bongino, a Fox Information contributor, said on “Fox & Friends Weekend” on Sunday.

The violence that has rocked the nation left  at least 3 dead, dozens injured, hundreds arrested and buildings and businesses in torched ruins.

The protests had been sparked by the May 25 death of George Floyd, a black man who died after a now fired Minneapolis cop, Derek Chauvin, was filmed kneeling on his neck.  The video immediately went viral. Chauvin has been fired and charged with third-degree murder, and the US Department of Justice (DOJ) is investigating the case at the request of President Donald Trump.  Crowds across the nation have seized on the racially charged incident to demand justice, however the protests have turned more and more violent, culminating in a weekend of carnage.

What is mind-boggling is that the usual suspects, usually paid agitators like ANTIFA and Black Lives Matter, this time have ignored the fact that an overwhelming majority of Americans agree with them that the death of George Floyd came about by police brutality, and they wanted him arrested and charged.  But it didn’t matter to these people, because though there are a lot of folks who are genuinely protesting what happened to Mr. Floyd, the agitators don’t give a rip about the incident, they just want to destroy the American system, and they’re getting paid by people who have a different motive.  The money puppet masters of the riots want the country to turn on Donald Trump and the GOP in November.  Nothing will convince me otherwise at this point.  The Democrats saw the writing on the wall.  They knew that even though the Chinese pandemic virus wiped away all the progress America has made since Trump was elected, they weren’t going to turn their backs on him.  So, they quickly took advantage of Floyd’s death, and with the help of the mainstream media, they set fire to the kindling of rage, then sat back and watched it all burn.

We are dealing with people who are willing to watch Americans attack each other, in their own communities, just to win politically.  This has to end.

Host Pete Hegseth noted that in New York City, 345 people have been arrested, 33 officers have been injured and 47 police vehicles had been damaged.

“It should have been a protest,” Bongino stated.

“There were legitimate reasons looking at the tape of Mr. Floyd for all Americans who agreed in unanimity, for one of the first times I’ve seen in the last probably 10 years, that there was something seriously wrong there and you know what we’re not talking about? Any of that because we’re talking about an Antifa group, an organized group of agitators, committed unquestionably now to the destruction of the United States.”

Bongino added, “Some police departments, due to political leadership and bad political leadership have let this evolve into a riot from a protest.”

Never let a good crisis go to waste.

“It’s very difficult to put a lid on that,” he continued.

Bongino joined the Sergeants Benevolent Association (SBA) of the NYPD in criticizing New York City mayor Bill de Blasio for his comments on Saturday night that he expects officers to make use of a “light touch” with protesters.

Does de Stupido think the rioters, who he conflates with protesters, are going to have a light touch on private property, police officers, or even Americans they deem as the enemy?

The SBA tweeted Saturday evening, “If Mayor de Blasio wants a light touch then let him stand in front and take the first brick to the face. Or perhaps he can sit in a police vehicle and catch the Molotov Cocktail that’s thrown into it. Here’s the light touch, DeBlasio brain!”

“You use a light touch on legitimate protests because that’s a God-given right; you don’t use a light touch on a riot burning down an American city,” Bongino said reacting to de Blasio’s comments.

He added that “police officers know what to do.”  He hit the nail right on the head.  Politicians like de Blasio care more about their image during and after a crisis than they do about handling the ciris.

“The cops I worked with at the federal and state level are more than competent, it’s the political leadership getting in the way with this light touch nonsense,” Bongino said.
