Barack Obama is outraged that his setup of General Michael Flynn crashed and burned. He’s having a real hissy fit over it.
The former president instructed his boot-licking sycophants in the Fake News media on how to cover the Flynn case being dropped: “There is no precedent that anybody can find for somebody who has been charged with perjury just getting off scot-free.”
Well, we found one, and it involves Obama. Funny how that always seems to happen.
On January 17, 2017, the “New York Times” ran a story with the headline, “Obama Pardons James Cartwright, General Who Lied to F.B.I. in Leak Case.”
The story said, “President Obama on Tuesday pardoned James E. Cartwright, a retired Marine Corps general and former vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff who pleaded guilty to lying to the F.B.I. about his discussions with reporters about Iran’s nuclear program, saving him from a possible prison sentence.
“General Cartwright, who was a key member of Mr. Obama’s national security team in his first term and earned a reputation as the president’s favorite general, pleaded guilty late last year to misleading investigators looking into the leaking of classified information about cyberattacks against Iran.
“He was due to be sentenced this month. His defense team had asked for a year of probation and 600 hours of community service, but prosecutors had asked the judge overseeing his case to send him to prison for two years.
“Now, the retired general will be spared such punishment.”
In a nutshell, Cartwright pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about disclosing classified information on the Stuxnet computer virus, that took down Iranian servers in their nuclear program, to journalists from the New York Times and Newsweek. General Cartwright, a vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was due to be sentenced on felony charges. Prosecutors were seeking a two-year prison term when Obama jumped in and pardoned him.
This was three days before Donald Trump was inaugurated.
The reason why is more-than-likely because Obama, who was in over his head from day one of being president, ran his mouth bragging about our involvement in the Stuxnet program, putting the US and Israeli assets in harm’s way.
Obama probably felt that his incompetence led to the general being charged with perjury for lying to the FBI. I’m willing to bet that Obama approved and ordered Cartwright’s leaking the information to the press. We don’t yet have corroboration on that, but it’s still early. We now know that Obama instructed fired and disgraced former FBI director James Comey to go “brief” President-Elect Donald Trump on the fake Steele Dossier in an effort not to brief him, but to get Trump to say something incriminating during the meeting.
Does Obama believe it’s okay to lie to the FBI when he orders someone to do it?
Even so, Obama can’t now lie about the Flynn case being dropped. The difference here is Cartwright actually lied to FBI agents, while Flynn did not. It was Obama’s FBI leadership that altered Flynn’s 302 documents originally written by fired and disgraced former FBI agent Peter Strzok.
So, here we are in yet another scenario where Barack Obama is lying to the American people. Liberals constantly claim President Trump lies all the time, while Obama doesn’t even hide it anymore.
The media has to be aware of this, and they refuse to tell the American people the God’s honest truth here.
I mean, HELLO, Charlie Savage, Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times journalist? You wrote the story. Where the hell are you? Let’s all pause for a moment here while waiting for Charlie Savage to grow a pair.
Just to give some perspective, that story was only six days after Politico put out a bombshell story with the headline “Ukrainian efforts to sabotage Trump backfire” Remember when Obama insulted Donald Trump during the 2016 election in a speech where he said it’s nearly impossible to rig a presidential election? He knew the whole time he was giving that lying speech that members of his administration had been hard at work pressuring the Ukrainian government to interfere in the election to harm Trump and help Hillary Clinton. From that effort the Paul Manfort case came about.
