Drew Brees Apologizes Profusely to the Leftist Mob for Opposing Kneeling For The Anthem

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees continues to face opposition from players who will be kneeling during the national anthem when the season begins, and on Wednesday he informed Yahoo Finance that he would never agree with the gesture.

“I will never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States of America or our country. Let me just tell you what I see or what I feel when the national anthem is played and when I look at the flag of the United States,” Brees said.

After catching a lot of hell over his comments, Brees repeated his stance later to leftist ESPN saying that he also respects his teammates and their fight for “racial equality and justice.”

The backlash he received became so strong he eventually caved and apologized to the leftist mob.

On Thursday, Brees, 41, shared a long Instagram post to apologize for his statement, alongside a photo of a white person and a black person clasping hands.

“I would like to apologize to my friends, teammates, the City of New Orleans, the black community, NFL community, and anyone I hurt with my comments yesterday,” the athlete wrote. “In speaking with some of you, it breaks my heart to know the pain I have caused.”

“In an attempt to talk about respect, unity, and solidarity centered around the American flag and the national anthem, I made comments that were insensitive and completely missed the mark on the issues we are facing right now as a country,” he continued. “They lacked awareness and any type of compassion or empathy. Instead, those words have become divisive and hurtful and have misled people into believing that somehow I am an enemy. This could not be further from the truth, and is not an accurate reflection of my heart or my character.”

Here’s some of the anger thrown at Brees for loving his country.

Brees’ teammate Michael Thomas was one of many athletes who reacted to the longer-term Hall of Fame quarterback’s comments.

“He don’t know no better,” Thomas wrote on his Twitter.

Thomas followed up with another tweet.

“We don’t care if you don’t agree and whoever else how about that.”

Kenny Vaccaro, a former Saints teammate, responded to Thomas on Twitter by saying, “That one hurt bro.”

Other athletes shared their thoughts about Brees’ comments, together with Los Angeles Lakers celebrity LeBron James, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, San Francisco 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman, and former Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin, and others.

James said:  “WOW MAN!! Is it still surprising at this point? Sure isn’t! You literally still don’t understand why Kap was kneeling on one knee?? Has absolute (sic) nothing to do with the disrespect of and our soldiers(men and women) who keep our land free. My father-in-law was one of those.”

Here’s one that really hurts me to see.  The guy claims to be a Marine, and he’s siding with people who hate America while claiming he respects and loves the country.

My father, God rest his soul, was a Marine who served in Korea, and he understood that all of America isn’t the cause of black oppression in America.

Actually, I think it’s those who side with Kaepernick who don’t understand the reality of the situation.  Apparently, these people, including the Marine, don’t know what the flag represents.  They are from a generation that grew up with liberal elementary, high school, and college teachers who taught them that it’s not the Democratic Party that caused the problems for black people, but the whole concept of America.

The American flag doesn’t represent police brutality.  That’s not what America is about.  The flag doesn’t represent the plight of progressive Democrat policies on black America.   These folks are blaming the wrong people. They are blaming “America” when they should be blaming the Democratic Party.  America didn’t do all of the horrors committed against the black community.  That’s the Democratic Party’s doing, and it’s about time we have a real discussion about it.

Half the country fought a civil war to end the business of slavery, and at the time the American Civil War broke out 100 percent of all 4 million black slaves were owned by Democrats.  Not a single slave was owned by a Republican.

Most if not all of the problems with police brutality happen in Democrat jurisdictions.  There may be some that happen in red states, but almost always it happens in a city run by Democrats inside red states.  Wherever Democrats are in control, there is widespread crime, poverty, racial unrest, unemployment, drug and alcohol abuse and the rest of the problems that plague the black community.  America isn’t doing that, Democrat progressive policies are.

Democrats, every election cycle, promise the black community that they’re going to fix the problems in the country, and they never, ever, ever come through.  Could it be because they are the cause of all the problems?  Think about it.  Tell me what major problems in the black community has the Democratic Party fixed?  They stole Eisenhower’s civil rights bill and called it the 64 Civil Rights Act, and even for that bill, a higher percentage of Republicans voted for it than Democrats.  The Democrat majorities in Congress never would have passed that bill without the help of Republicans putting it over the top.

The supporters of Kaepernick need to stop blaming the problems of the black community on all of America and place their anger directly at where it comes from; the Democratic Party.
