New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) might have most of the mainstream media cheering in his corner, but sadly for him, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) isn’t interested in being so accommodating.
Cuomo recently announced that he was thinking about requiring individuals traveling from Florida to New York to quarantine for 14 days as case numbers go up in the Sunshine state.

Cuomo called the move, which he is still mulling, a “full 180,” after Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis required people traveling from New York to Florida to quarantine in late March, Sun Sentinel sister paper The New York Daily News reported Thursday.
“If you went to Florida, you had to quarantine for two weeks because they were afraid that New Yorkers were bringing the virus to their state,” Cuomo said Thursday, according to the Daily News. “You want to talk about a full 180. Fast forward a 100 days, now we’re afraid they’re bringing the virus to our state.”
I should point out that at the time DeSantis made his decision back in March to quarantine visiting New Yorkers, Cuomo was outraged and said he would “look into” it, insinuating that he might sue. The lawsuit never happened, of course, however the punches back and forth between the two governors have continued through the entirety of the pandemic, a rivalry at least partially brought on by the media’s biased coverage of how Cuomo has dealt with the outbreak in his state versus how DeSantis has handled it in his.
The New York governor is known to behave like a petulant, whiny little child when things don’t go his way. He’s a despicable man, and if we had an honest press he’d never be reelected.
Cuomo has been a disaster for New York, while DeSantis is one of the unsung heroes, and you guessed it, the left-wing news media championed Cuomo the loser and trashed DeSantis’ handling of his state. Don’t forget that Florida actually has more people than New York, and there were far fewer deaths in Florida than New York, primarily because of the two different governors. Cuomo was the idiot who first cut down the number of trains and buses thereby forcing the same amount of riders to squeeze in together like a can of sardines, thus making it much easier to spread the Chinese virus.
Cuomo, and other Democrat governors, contradicted the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines and pushed people suffering from the Chinese virus into nursing homes, causing deaths to skyrocket. Then, in typical Democrat fashion, they blamed the Trump administration by lying, claiming that they were simply following the federal guidelines. We recently reported that this is not true. CMS Administrator Seema Verma recently pointed out that Cuomo and other Democrat governors did not follow federal guidelines and deviated from it by implementing their own policies. Democrats never admit to their own failures.
When DeSantis heard about of Cuomo’s threat to quarantine Floridians traveling from his state to New York he responded in the way we’ve come to appreciate from him.
In a rare press conference on Saturday, Governor DeSantis referenced a policy change by Governor Cuomo and how he pushed nursing homes to admit Chinese virus sufferers despite the fact that the elderly in nursing homes were much vulnerable to the disease. DeSantis was outspoken about such a dangerous policy, as in his state of Florida, nursing homes refused to accept patients who tested positive for the Chinese virus. Florida’s death toll was much less than blue states, because Governor DeSantis took care of his elderly residents, something many blue-state governors didn’t do.

“I think governors are going to do what they need to do,” DeSantis said. “I would just ask them if that’s done, just please do not quarantine any Floridians in the nursing homes in New York.”

BAM! DeSantis is known for pulling no punches, and in those brief few words he summed up Cuomo’s incompetence that had to sting, even if the mainstream news media gives the NY governor a total pass.
