It’s actually not unusual for Biden to cheapen the death of Martin Luther King Jr.
In his time in the Senate, Joe Biden usually sided with the segregationists and helped pass legislation like Bill Clinton’s crime bill that led to the mass incarceration of Blacks.
Biden made the claim that MLK’s death had less impact on the world than that of George Floyd.
That would be true if you view rioting and looting as positives.
Make no mistake, Floyd’s death is both tragic and criminal in nature, but having more impact on the world? No way.

Biden said:
“Even Dr. King’s assassination did not have the worldwide impact that George Floyd’s death did.”
“Because just like television changed the civil rights movement for the better when they saw Bull Connor’s dogs ripping the clothes off of elderly black women who were trying to go to church, and fire hoses ripping the skin off of young kids.”
Bull Connor was a Democrat and Commissioner of Public Safety in Birmingham, Alabama.
“That — all those folks around the country who didn’t have any black populations heard about this, but they didn’t believe it, but they saw it, it was impossible for them to close their eyes,” Biden continued.
“Well, what happened to George Floyd, now you’ve got how many people around the country? Millions of cell phones, it’s changed the way everybody’s looking at this,” he said. “Look at the millions of people marching around the world.”
