United States Announces Withdrawal From The World Health Organization

Enough is enough, President Trump just sent shock waves around the world, by announcing the United States is officially leaving the World Health Organization (WHO). A darling of the United Nations and China especially, their ineptitude over the decades, total mismanagement of the slowing CV pandemic and rejection of the Trump administrations calls for more transparency just culminated in President Trump’s decision.

This formal notification of withdrawal concludes months of threats from the Trump administration to pull the United States out of the WHO, which is affiliated with the United Nations.

This announcement is sure to trigger panic within the WHO’s ranks, particularly given that the United States supplies a significant percentage — more than $400 million — of the group’s operating budget. At one point, members of the WHO previously accused Taiwan of orchestrating an uprising among member nations based on racism — a claim Taiwan quickly and forcefully disputed.

Withdrawal requires a year’s notice, so it will not go into effect until July 6, 2021, raising the possibility the decision could be reversed.

As expected Democratic leaders are already on social media, in front of cameras, and on conference calls to position the administration’s decision to leave the WHO as reckless. The timing of the administration’s decision has drawn intense scrutiny and is likely to spur questions about U.S. involvement in global efforts to develop a coronavirus vaccine.

Sen. Bob Menendez (N.J.), the top Democrat on the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, tweeted that the administration informed Congress of the withdrawal plans.

“To call Trump’s response to COVID chaotic & incoherent doesn’t do it justice. This won’t protect American lives or interests — it leaves Americans sick & America alone,” the senator tweeted.

Regardless of what you think of President Trump, if he says he is going to do something or sets conditions which must be met, then when he repeatedly follow through inaction, those thinking about challenging him should wise up a bit. This decision will be used to energize the Trump base further but provide further ammo for the left pushing a narrative of President Trump’s “incompetence”. If this finalizes in a year, our country will once again have left a globalist monstrosity.
