The Pakistan Supreme Court has ordered the release of four terrorists who were involved in the killing and beheading of Wall Street Journal reporter, Daniel Pearl. The terrorists ordered released include Omar Sheikh, Fahad Naseem, Syed Salman and Muhammad Adil . Their release has been challenged by Pearl’s parents, Judea, 83 and Ruth. All four had been convicted but their convictions were overturned.
You have to wonder if the release at this time is due to the fact that Biden is president and they don’t expect the United States would do anything unlike the reaction if it had happened under Trump’s watch. Several other countries are starting to make some noise including Iran, who knows Boden wants a deal but they can break the deal with no repercussions. They know Biden will let it slide.
The death of Daniel Pearl was a national tragedy after the Islamic radicals released a video of his death and beheading. Outrage by the people of the United States was fierce and they wanted his killers brought to justice, but will they now? I am sorry to say that these terrorists are now free to commit more terrorist attacks. One or two might decide they don’t want to go back to prison but them others night decide they want revenge on the United States.
The Daily Mail reported on Thursday:
Pakistan’s Supreme Court has ordered the release of four Islamist militants convicted and later acquitted in the gruesome beheading of American journalist Daniel Pearl in 2012.
The court also dismissed an appeal against the militants – including British-born Ahmad Saeed Omar Sheikh who had been on death row – by the Wall Street Journal reporter’s family.
Sheikh, Fahad Naseem, Syed Salman and Muhammad Adil were found guilty of the abduction and murder of the journalist in 2012.
While Sheikh was cleared of murder and the three other men were cleared, they had been held while Mr Pearl’s parents, Judea, 83 and Ruth appealed against the acquittal.
‘The Pearl family is in complete shock by the majority decision of the Supreme Court of Pakistan to acquit and release Ahmed Omer Sheikh and the other accused persons who kidnapped and killed Daniel Pearl,’ the Pearl family said in a statement released by their lawyer, Faisal Siddiqi.
‘Today’s decision is a complete travesty of justice and the release of these killers puts in danger journalists everywhere and the people of Pakistan.’
