The Democrats have underestimated the BLM movement. They thought they could use them and then toss them aside as they have with Stormy Daniels, David Hogg, and Greta Thunberg, but as it turns out once President Trump was gone they have been going after the Democrats.
They are now fighting to get Gavin Newsome to refrain from naming Adam Schiff as the new attorney general for California.
Newsome is trying to fight off a recall effort. It is almost assured they will have more than enough signatures by the March deadline. he can’t afford to anger Blacks in California, so he may capitulate on their demands because Adam Schiff is only popular in his district.
It would derail Schiff’s plan to broker the attorney general job into a successful campaign to replace Dianne Feinstein in the Senate.
BLM objects to him because as a state legislator, Schiff supported many law enforcement bills that led to the mass incarceration of Blacks. They are looking for another Soros connected prosecutor at the state level.
Thave a history of refusing to prosecute many crimes. Kim Gardner in St Louis is a prime example who has dropped charges on a child predator and a dope dealer.
Current Attorney General Xavier Becerra is expected to vacate the position if he is confirmed to Biden’s cabinet. Newsome has already named a replacement for Kamala Harris’ seat in the Senate but an 87-year-old Feinstein is unlikely to run again.
Schiff covets that seat. He could possibly still win if he doesn’t get the appointment but it would be much more difficult and he may not even try.
We are proud to join this letter calling on @CAgovernor
to not appoint Adam Schiff as our next Attorney General.“Adam Schiff has spent his career serving the interests of police associations, the CDAA, and oppressive forces, not the people of California." @DocMellyMel pic.twitter.com/Ftdckb56Ds

Axios reported that “Schiff is quietly lobbying” Newsom and the governor’s allies, citing “people familiar with the matter.” According to the outlet, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) “has given her approval to Schiff’s bid,” adding, the AG job “would better position Schiff…to run for Sen. Dianne Feinstein’s seat, should the 87-year-old decide not to run for reelection in 2024.”
The Reimagine Justice California Coalition, which includes Los Angeles-based Black Lives Matter leaders Patrisse Cullors, Melina Abdullah, and dozens of allied progressive activist groups, co-signed an open letter to Newsom dated February 1 scrutinizing Schiff’s record.
