Rand Paul: Chuck Schumer Must Face Impeachment

Rand Paul said that if the Democrats would hold themselves to the same standards they hold Trump to Chuck Schumer should be impeached.

After all, if a president is not allowed to exercise free speech by telling people to march peacefully, then Chuck Schumer threatening Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh is definitely grounds for impeachment. Schumer threatened the pair of justices after they voted according to the constitution and upholding life.

But, that is not how things work. Schumer declared liberal privilege. Simply put, if you invoke liberal privilege, you can not be tried for any crime you commit, no matter how heinous.

In the United States there are two sets of rules. One for Democrats and one for everyone else. The only thing a Democrats can be held accountable for is if they switch to the Republican Party. You can get the firing squad for that.

As the Supreme Court was deciding on an abortion case, Schumer warned:

“I want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”

Remember, he made that statement before the justices decided to vote. The reason justices serve for life is so that they do not have to be afraid to rule as they define the constitution and not because they are being pressured. It was so egregious that Chief Justice Roberts, who normally lets things slide as he votes with the liberals on the court felt compelled to make the following statement:

Justices know that criticism comes with the territory, but threatening statements of this sort from the highest levels of government are not only inappropriate, they are dangerous. All members of the court will continue to do their job, without fear or favor, from whatever quarter.

Speaking on “Fox News Sunday,” Paul said that if Congress applied Democrats’ impeachment standard fairly, Schumer should also be impeached and put on trial by the Senate.

Trump’s second impeachment trial begins on Tuesday. The House impeached him last month for “incitement of insurrection,” claiming Trump’s allegations of a “rigged” or “stolen” election incited the deadly violence at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.

“If we’re going to criminalize speech, and somehow impeach everybody who says, ‘Go fight to hear your voices heard,’ I mean really we ought to impeach Chuck Schumer then,” Paul said.
