It seems like the Democrats gleefully used an alleged quote from President Trump to smear him with. Of course the quote was a lie from “anonymous sources.”
That is the quote that allegedly came from Trump that sad for the state investigator to find the votes for him to win.
The actual recording of the phone call has been released and it proves once and for all that WaPo and others lied.
Trump was quoted as telling Frances Watson, the chief investigator of the Georgia secretary of state’s office to “find the fraud” and that she would become a national hero for finding it.
This of course turned out to be a lie.
Trump did allege there was fraud and he did ask Watson to find any if it existed but that is quite different from the original story and they had to issue a very long correction.
WaPo’s correction:
“Correction: Two months after publication of this story, the Georgia secretary of state released an audio recording of President Donald Trump’s December phone call with the state’s top elections investigator. The recording revealed that The Post misquoted Trump’s comments on the call, based on information provided by a source. Trump did not tell the investigator to ‘find the fraud’ or say she would be ‘a national hero’ if she did so.”
“Instead, Trump urged the investigator to scrutinize ballots in Fulton County, Ga., asserting she would find ‘dishonesty’ there. He also told her that she had ‘the most important job in the country right now.’”
Actually "wow'd" at this correction. incrediblehttps://t.co/FXCF9mttzg pic.twitter.com/5yrGhk5ZdO

The Post noted that both its headline and text of the original article were “corrected to remove quotes misattributed to Trump.” Additionally, the publication wrote a subsequent story about the recording.
The newspaper’s incorrect quotes were attributed to an anonymous source back in December. Audio of Trump’s phone call with Watson came about after Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis announced a criminal investigation surrounding the former president’s aim to overturn the 2020 election results.
CNN also published an article alleging that Trump urged Watson to “find the fraud,” citing “a source with knowledge of the call” and The Post. CNN updated its article with an editor’s note Monday afternoon.
That means that Willis opened up an investigation that they knew to be a lie because they had the recording of the call.
