Mitch McConnell has been driving the Republican Party off the cliff for far too long now.
Cocaine Mitch is not a principled conservative, he’s the very definition of the swamp. If we are to have any chance of restoring constitutional governance at the federal level, we are going to need to see to it that men and women like Mitch are no where near the levers of power.
One has to wonder if McConnell’s scampering for the exit midterm has something to do with his wife Elaine Chao, who McConnell got Trump to appoint as Transportation Secretary, has come under scrutiny after an IG investigation.
Cincinnati.com reported:
‘The U.S. Transportation Department’s inspector general’s office investigated former Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao for potential violations of ethics rules and misuse of her position — and its report went public this week.
The investigation focused on, among other things, how Chao — who is married to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell — may have improperly aided members of her family and their shipping company, Foremost Group.
Foremost Group does significant business in China and is helmed by Chao’s father, James S.C. Chao, and her sister, Angela Chao. (Neither Elaine Chao nor McConnell has a financial stake in it, based on publicly available information.)‘
Oh, neither of them own any of the company … on paper. Does this not sound just like the Hunter Biden/Joe Biden ‘French Connection’? We all know how the hustle works by now. You launder all the illicit money through your relatives.
What do you know, the company operates in China … you can’t make this stuff up. It sounds to me like McConnell is being pushed out because his dirt with the CCP is coming to light and he wants to take the golden parachute while he still can …
Serving since 1985, the Kentucky senator — who was elected to his seventh term in 2020 — is reportedly working with Kentucky’s state legislature on an exit strategy. The plan involves passing a bill through the state legislature that would strip power from the hands of the Governor to appoint McConnell’s successor and instead make it the duty of the Republican Party in the state.
The Gateway Pundit reported:
‘If the legislation passes, a new senator would need to come from a retiring senator’s political party.
And that senator would be chosen from a list of three candidates.’
The bill alters current state statute that allows the governor to appoint a replacement in the event of a vacancy to the U.S. Senate. If the bill becomes law, the appointment to fill a vacancy will be selected from a list of three names submitted by the state executive committee of the same political party as the senator who held the vacant seat. According to the bill, the appointee from that list will then serve until a successor has been elected by voters. The legislation goes on to list instructions on when elections take place in the event of a vacancy.
Republican replacement candidates include state Attorney General Daniel Cameron, former United Nations Ambassador Kelly Craft, and Kentucky Secretary of State Michael Adams, according to the Gateway Pundit.
Call me crazy, but I think Mitch’s incurable accumulation of wealth during his time as a ‘public servant’ is finally coming back to bit him in the ass. I just hope we are able to replace him with someone with balls … (guts, gender couldn’t matter less)
