What the heck is it with Senators showing up with black eyes and telling everyone they fell? Do you know of any adult who has fallen and ended up with a black eye? Well, I don’t and certainly not multiple ones.
Remember when Harry Reid showed up looking like this:
This lead to much speculation as to what the cause of such a gruesome looking injury could be … the late, great, Rush Limbaugh opined, via The Political Insider:
Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) is finally retiring. And at least part of the reason for his retirement is his injury which he claims to have sustained on exercise equipment.
However, Sen. Reid has been injured for months, and doesn’t seem to be getting better. That led America’s top conservative radio host, Rush Limbaugh, to speculate. Do you see what he’s hinting?
Harry Reid announced that he will not seek reelection. By the way, does anybody believe that Harry Reid really had an accident with his exercise machine? Does anybody really believe that’s why Harry Reid is still bruised and is still wearing dark glasses, what, months after this accident with his exercise machine?
I don’t believe for a minute that whatever happened to Harry Reid has anything to do with an exercise machine unless somebody repeatedly threw him into it. Harry Reid looks like and is acting like — and now with this announcement, behaving like — somebody who may have been beaten up. Nobody… I’ve never seen anybody have an accident with an exercise machine that ends up suffering symptoms much like Harry Reid’s for as long as Harry Reid has.’
Well, this time its Romney. I have to admit, Romney did have a good line to take the focus of his silly story.

‘Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) has a black eye and had to get stitches after a fall that knocked him unconscious.
Romney, 73, said he fell down while visiting his son in Boston over the weekend, however he did not elaborate on his accident.
“I took a fall, knocked me unconscious but I’m doing better.” Romney told the Capitol press pool on Monday.
Romney cracked a joke about CPAC, “I had kind of a tough, tough weekend. You see that?” Romney said. “I went to CPAC, that was a problem.”’
