Is there anything in the world that isn’t racist? Not in the eyes of the Democrats, the party of slavery, and Jim Crow laws. Democrats have embraced semantics because their only other choice is to actually do something productive for Blacks and they refuse to do that. But they have to do something to convince Blacks that they do care without taking apart the nanny state. That is not something they are willing to do.
The Ida B. Wells-Barnett High School’s namesake is the Pulitzer Prize-winning African American journalist who extensively reported on lynchings. The school was formerly named after Woodrow Wilson before he became persona non grata to the Democrats.
When it came time to decide on a motto, one suggestion was the evergreen tree because they are “are characterized by the life-giving force of their foliage, the strength of their massive trunk, and the depth of their roots—in an individual tree and as a forest of trees.”
Someone then sat long and hard and finally decided against any kind of tree because it reminds people about lynchings. Now that’s a bit of a stretch, huh?
It reminds me of the story about three men who died on Christmas and when they got to the Pearly Gates St Peter told them that none of them were eligible for Heaven but if they have something in their pockets that reminds you of Christmas, you may enter. The first one pulled out a keychain and rattled the keys and he said they sounded like church bells. He was let i8n.
The second man pulled out a toothpick and the man said it was made from as Christmas tree. St Peter let him pass.
The third one pulled a pair of women’s underwear out of his pocket. St Peter asked him what it had to do with Christmas. The man said “They are Carol’s”
The Ida B. Wells-Barnett High School was formerly known as Woodrow High School. Earlier this year, the school was renamed because the former Democrat president segregated federal offices in his administration, and wrote a book that some consider sympathetic to the KKK.
“I’m wondering if there was any concern with the imagery there, in using a tree … as our mascot?” DePass asked. “I think everyone comes with blind spots and I think that might’ve been a really big blind spot.”
DePass is the only black member school board.
Her concerns resulted in the board postponing the vote on the new mascot until they could reach out to Wells-Barnett’s family to see if they had any issue with it.
Someone got screwed over by evolution.
