Video captured the moment a Portland demonstrator hauled off and punched a police officer in the head along with the disturbance that occurred afterward. Authorities arrested two people after an unlawful assembly was declared in downtown Portland on Tuesday night.
According to a report from KOIN-TV, the incident took place just after a jury found former police officer Derek Chauvin guilty of all charges. BLM can’t take yes for an answer. It is decision time. Do we let these thugs run wild, immune from the rules of a civilized society, or do we put an end to all of the violence? We cannot sit idly by as the violence continues in Democratic cities all across America,
If we don’t do something, we won’t have to defund the police because no one will want the job of keeping the peace. A Black girl in Columbus, Ohio was shot and killed by police after she tried to stab another Black woman.
BLM is protesting that shooting even though it was done to protect the life of an unarmed Black woman. They will continue protesting her death but they would have ignored the matter had the police allowed the girl to kill the woman.
KOIN reports on the Portland assault on a police officer:
“Multiple videos from social media and local news outlets captured the officer moving [a demonstrator] aside, they had a few words — then [the officer] moved on. However, longer videos on social media show another person come and punch the sergeant in the head and the sergeant falls to the ground on his back.”
“More officers intervened and threw punches — what police referred to as ‘focused blows’ — while getting the man off of the sergeant. Police say they also used pepper spray.”

Authorities arrested 36-year-old Randy Gray in connection with the attack and charged him with assaulting a public safety officer, assault, harassment, disorderly conduct, and criminal mischief. He was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center.
The Portland Police shared video of the altercation on Twitter and captioned it, “An Officer is surrounded and punched in the face and ends up on the ground on his back with the suspect on top. This was a very dangerous situation. Subject was arrested.”
