In any free country, assuring that people do not vote illegally is the foundation for democracy and not the demise of it. For every illegal vote, a legal vote has been compromised. Considering all of the things you need an ID for, is it really too much to ask that everyone identifies themselves?
The difference between liberals and conservatives is liberals want every vote to count, whereas conservatives want every legal vote to count.
