Violence in Democratic cities is out of control. Biden will be sending task forces to Chicago, New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C. The task force will be led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. It will be interesting to see what roadblocks Biden puts up to be politically correct. I notice that three cities Biden did not include. Portland, Seattle, and Minneapolis.
Why did Biden not include those cities? Violence is out of hand. Is it because the violence in those cities is run by MLB and antifa. Coincidence? I think not.
Chicago just had a horrendous Fourth of July weekend with 108 people were shot, 19 of them fatally. Shootings are 58% higher than in 2019. @020 numbers are skewed because of the lockdown, so using 2019 figures is more accurate. large increases in other Democratic cities have been experiencing the same type of increases. It is not yet clear what the plan is for these federal agents. I’m sure Biden will tell us just as soon as his bosses tell him.
Mayor Lightfoot interviewed with a local PBS station and she blamed everybody but herself for the rise in crime:
“I believe that violence is a manifestation of systemic problems, and it’s a public health crisis. When you see, in way too many neighborhoods, a lack of jobs, a lack of investment — these are historic, decades-long problems.”
Excuse me mayor but how many people lost their jobs during your draconian lockdown? And exactly why would any sane person make investments when the city is in lockdown mode. South Dakota never locked down and people moved there in droves because there were jobs to be had. Overall, studies show that Red states are doing much better financially than states like New York and California.
Chicago Alderman Anthony Napolitano has fired back at Lightfoot for blaming gun laws when Chicago has some of the strictest gun restrictions in the nation.
“We have a people problem here in Chicago. I’ve been saying this for a long time, we have zero accountability for parents in the city of Chicago,” said Napolitano. “Nobody is raising their kids anymore, the gangs are raising them.”
Crime has become such a problem in major U.S. cities that some liberals are sounding the alarm that Democrats will face defeat in future elections if the violence continues to increase.
