The largest teacher’s union in the United States, The National Education Association (NEA), has been working on plans to “fight back” against opponents of critical race theory. By the way, they fiercely support the Democratic Party.
According to a recent survey, most teachers said they are opposed to teaching critical race theory to their course instruction.
As state legislators express their concerns over critical race theory and work to pass legislation banning it from public school classrooms, the NEA is repeating its support for the far-left ideology.
Publicly (through existing media) convey its support for the accurate and honest teaching of social studies topics, including truthful and age-appropriate accountings of unpleasant aspects of American history, such as slavery, and the oppression and discrimination of Indigenous, Black, Brown, and other peoples of color, as well as the continued impact this history has on our current society. The Association will further convey that in teaching these topics, it is reasonable and appropriate for curriculum to be informed by academic frameworks for understanding and interpreting the impact of the past on current society, including critical race theory.
The problem is critical race theory is racist and historically inaccurate on much of the teaching throughout the program. This means that the NEA wants to teach children to be racist.
But the largest teacher’s union not only decided to spread the racist ideas of critical race theory, but it also vowed to “fight back against anti-CRT rhetoric.”
The NEA further promised to “provide an already-created, in-depth, study that critiques empire, white supremacy, anti-Blackness, anti-Indigeneity, racism, patriarchy, cis heteropatriarchy, capitalism, ableism, anthropocentrism, and other forms of power and oppression at the intersections of our society, and that we oppose attempts to ban critical race theory and/or The 1619 Project.” In other words, all the gobbledygook anti-American nonsense believed by America’s radical Left.
On top of that, the union, which claims to have 2.3 million members, will join Black Lives Matter to call for George Floyd’s birthday — October 14 — to be “a national day of action to teach lessons about structural racism and oppression.”
This is nuts. Even Keith Ellison, Minnesota’s racially motivated Democrat attorney general, said that Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer who was convicted of second-degree murder of George Floyd, was not charged with racial crimes because there was no evidence that race had anything to do with it. So the NEA wants its 2.3 million teachers to teach lies to their students, to your children.
The NEA’s response to the radical call of critical race theory is nothing but expected. The union has put social justice as a preeminent issue of NEA advocacy.
Another resolution says that the union believes a push for critical race theory is necessary because “the attacks on anti-racist teachers are increasing, coordinated by well-funded organizations such as the Heritage Foundation.”
This is more gobbledygook radical progressive nonsense. What the radical Left always does is push some far-left agenda into the mainstream of American life and with the help of radicals in the mainstream news media, they attempt to make their ideological attacks on American norms seem mainstream. Then, if people push back, they are regarded as the extremists and not the radicals who started pushing a far-left ideology over another American way of life.
And now the same racist Left has determined that it’s no longer enough to not be racist. Now, you have to be an antiracist, which means you cannot live your life unless you actively do something to show that you are an antiracist, and if you don’t, well, then you’re a racist. Do you see how that works?
The Heritage Foundation has vowed to step up its activities to oppose critical race theory because it’s dangerous to teach children that the color of your skin and not the content of your character are what matters. That’s what critical race theory teaches.
“Woke teachers unions have been put on notice that Americans will not stand for their racist CRT ideology,” Heritage Action executive director Jessica Anderson said to The Federalist. “Now those same unions are funding a coordinated misinformation campaign to retaliate against Heritage Action and the Heritage Foundation for our defense of American students, parents, and teachers. But the American people will not be deterred, and their smear campaign will ultimately fail.”
