Vice President Kamala Harris’ office is reportedly an “abusive environment” thanks mostly to Harris’ chief of staff, Tina Flournoy.
Flournoy has been accused by former and present staff of ignoring their input and then when an initiative fails she tries to blame that failure on subordinates.
Staffers are allegedly often thrown under the bus to cover for mistakes made by Flournoy according to staffers. Why are the worst bosses in Washington Democrats?
Staffers claim that Harris is to blame for ignoring the problem.
One of the people with direct knowledge of how Harris’ office is run told Politico:
“People are thrown under the bus from the very top, there are short fuses and it’s an abusive environment. It’s not a healthy environment and people often feel mistreated. It’s not a place where people feel supported but a place where people feel treated like shit.”
Two travel staffers quit after they were forced to make last-minute travel plans for Harris because they weren’t told of the trip until the last minute. After all, allegedly Flournoy decided to keep them in the dark. But both Kamala harris and the Biden administration are pushing back against the story.
This reminds me of something my father once told me. If one person calls you a horse, ignore them. If two people call you a horse, stop and think about it.
If three people call you horse, buy yourself a saddle and shut up about it. That seems fitting here.

“Recently, a Harris friend personally reached out to Flournoy on behalf of one of the party’s top donors to try to arrange a brief meeting. They were ignored. The friend said it wasn’t clear whether Flournoy knew who they were. The donor also contacted Harris’s office personally to connect, and didn’t hear back for weeks. They eventually were told the VP was too busy to schedule some time.
‘This is someone who has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars—millions, even—for your boss and you’re just blowing them off?’ the Harris friend asked. ‘Next time Kamala wants [them] for something, it’s like, ‘Hey, I couldn’t even get a call-back from your chief of staff!’”
