A Cuomo accuser labeled as “Executive Assistant #1” in the state attorney general’s bombshell report has filed a criminal complaint against the governor with the Albany County Sheriff’s Office, police said. The complaint will be investigated and if substantiated Cuomo will be arrested says, Sheriff Craig Apple. The charges will then be turned over to the DA for prosecution. It would then be up to the DA to determine if Cuomo should face trial.
This is the first time that criminal charges could be brought against Cuomo as the investigation run by Attorney General Letitia James’s office was a civil investigation and did not determine if Cuomo was to be prosecuted, although James did say that Cuomo violated state and federal laws in harassing his underlings.
Sheriff Craig Apple:
The end result could either be it sounds substantiated and an arrest is made and it would be up to the DA to prosecute the arrest.”
“Just because of who it is we are not going to rush it or delay it.”
According to the unknown victim, since late 2019 Cuomo engaged in a pattern of inappropriate conduct that included unwanted touching, kisses, close and intimate hugs, and inappropriate comments and jokes about the woman’s personal life. He even asked her if she would ever cheat on her husband.
She testified that he would ask her for a hug every time she would leave the governor’s mansion. She claimed:
“I knew I could feel him pushing my body against his and definitely making sure that he could feel my breasts up against his body. And was doing it in a way that I felt was obviously uncomfortable for me and he was maybe trying to get some sort of personal satisfaction from it.”
“I have to tell you it was—at the moment I was in such shock that I could just tell you that I just remember looking down seeing his hand, seeing the top of my bra and I remember it was like a little even the cup—the kind of bra that I had to the point I could tell you doesn’t really fit me properly, it was a little loose, I just remember seeing exactly that,” she said.
The victim also told investigators that on December 21, 2019, in the governor’s office at the Executive Mansion Cuomo groped her after asking her to take a “selfie” with him. While she was taking the picture, the governor allegedly “moved his hand to grab her butt cheek and began to rub it” for at least five seconds.
