Last month Democrat operative George Stephanopoulos asked Joe Biden about why he bucked against his top military advisors who told him we should keep 2,500 troops in Afghanistan while Americans were being evacuated.
Stephanopoulos said:
“But your top military advisors warned against withdrawing on this timeline. They wanted you to keep about 2,500 troops-”
Biden replied:
“No, they didn’t! It was split. That wasn’t true. That wasn’t true.”
Fast forward to today. Commander of U.S. Central Command, Gen. Kenneth McKenzie and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Milley on Tuesday testified before the Senate Armed Services Committee that they had advised Biden that they should keep 2,500 troops in Afghanistan during the evacuation of civilians. Later today, Biden lied again, claiming that he doesn’t remember anyone giving him that advice. That may be true because his mind is totally gone.
To top it off, both Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and McKenzie also said Joe Biden waited TEN DAYS after the fall of Kabul to ask for an assessment of what was going on. I guess it took him that long to find his cue cards.
The evacuation from Afghanistan was a disaster and Milley, Biden and Austin were running around in circles like three monkeys trying to make love to a football. It was nothing short of a joke. Biden claims there was no way they could evacuate without the same problems that they encountered. They would have known had they tried using common sense and did the right thing.
According to The Wall Street Journal, top generals told Biden to keep 2,500 troops on the ground while they evacuated Americans and Afghan allies.
Biden didn’t listen to his military advisors and Bagram Air Base was closed in early July.
