Even if you don’t know what is in the bill named “The Stop AOC Act”, you have to love the name. America’s least favorite barmaid is always spouting off about things she knows nothing about. But, to be fair things she doesn’t know about outnumbers what does know about by about a 50 to 1 count. Remember, she is the one who led the charge against the Amazon Campus in New Your City because it gave them a property tax break.
That cost New York City 25,000 great paying jobs and losing the campus cost the city and state billions every year in income taxes and other taxes such as the corporate tax, not to mention tens of thousands of ancillary jobs to the city. Yet, she celebrated it as a victory. By the way, there is only a nominal property tax break on the property that remains empty to this day.
Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert and a group of House Republicans introduced legislation Monday that would prevent FEMA from giving people money for funerals associated with COVID, even if there are major questions on whether the deaths are really attributive to COVID. The average funeral costs $3000 to $7000 but FEMA will give you $9000 to pay for it. And illegal aliens are eligible for the funds
Colorado Rep. Lauren Boebert said:
“AOC’s government welfare program is cradle to grave — literally. AOC and Chuck Schumer have shelled out almost $1.2 billion in COVID funeral earmarks. Never mind that the average cost of a funeral is $3,000-$7,000, AOC’s FEMA program will give you $9,000. There has been little to no auditing of this colossal waste of money, and the program is ripe for abuse and fraud — even allowing illegal immigrants to receive money. The Biden regime’s priority is placating AOC instead of helping Americans; for instance, while the VA backlog takes over 125 days, it only takes a month to get funding from AOC’s pet project.”
“This is just another blue state bailout, and coastal blue states like Maryland, New York, D.C., and California get almost 70% more money per COVID death on average than rural states like Colorado, Montana, Idaho, and New Mexico. I’m sick of my constituents’ tax dollars being sent to bankrupt liberal states through a program that is bankrupting the federal government.”
