On Black Friday, former President Donald Trump sent out an email letting people know that he “never” considered going to war with China and that Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley “should be tried for treason” if he really called his Chinese military counterpart and promised to give him advance warning of a US attack.
Trump’s email came two months after Bob Woodward’s September release of the book “Peril” that mentioned how the Joint Chiefs Chairman made assurances to China through back channel communications during the former Commander-in-Chief’s last months in office.
Milley, the highest-ranking US military officer, but without a chain of command, told a House committee in September that he did in fact give assurances against Trump to General Li Zuocheng of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army.
Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Milley’s testimony that he told Pompeo about the call is false and that Milley never told him about it.
“Does anybody really believe that longtime Con Man Bob Woodward, and his lightweight lapdog assistant Robert Costa, are implying in their book of fiction that I was planning to go to war with China, but that one of the dumber generals in the military called the Chinese to tell them that he will inform them if this action proceeds further,” Trump said in an emailed statement.
“Milley may have called, but if so, we should try him for treason.”
Remember how Milley’s excuse for his treasonous act was a slap in America’s face? Milley said that back channel communications like his phone call assurances to an enemy nation are “routine” and that they were “perfectly within the duties and responsibilities” of his job.
Trump’s email continued, “I never had even a thought of going to war with China, other than the war I was winning, which was on TRADE. To make up stories like this and to sell it to the public is disgraceful. I watched that craggy smug face of Woodward as he ‘bullshits’ the public and said to myself, ‘I wonder if history will really believe this stuff?’ How do you get your reputation back? I was the only President in decades to not get us into a war — I got us out of wars!”
It’s not yet clear why Trump sent the email statement out after all this time. He probably wanted to all along, but was busy with other stuff until now.
Back in September, Milley admitted he told his Chinese counterpart that would give a warning to him if Trump ordered an attack on China. ”I said, hell, I’ll call you. But we’re not going to attack you,” Milley testified.
According to what was written in the book, Milley told his Chinese counterpart on October 20, “If we’re going to attack, I’m going to call you ahead of time. It’s not going to be a surprise.”
It is amazing how many laws, rules, and regulations were turned upside down in efforts to attack President Trump. We had federal judges ignore the Constitution and historical precedence just to rule against specific programs like the travel ban at the beginning of his presidency. One judge told Trump he was not allowed to rescind a former Obama executive order on DACA. Every president since Washington has had the authority to rescind any past executive order except Trump. The DOJ and intelligence community secretly attacked the former president in multiple ways. It seemed like the universe of establishment government [the deep state] wanted Trump out so badly they disregarded laws to try to do it.
Apparently, Milley called again on January 8, two days after the January 6 two-and-a-half-hour riot that temporarily interrupted the certification of what they believed was Joe Biden’s stealing of the election.
Biden, knowing a Yes Man when he sees one, said, “I have great confidence in General Milley,” and the general’s office said that Milley “regularly communicates with Chiefs of Defense across the world, including with China and Russia.”
But I can guarantee you that he doesn’t regularly undermine the Commander-in-Chief and our national security.
Mark Esper, the disgraceful secretary of defense at the time of the October call, was aware of Milley’s outreach to China.
Esper went with the Fake News rhetoric that Trump was going to use the Insurrection Act to quell nightly riots in Democrat-run cities across the country that lasted the entire summer of 2020, publicly saying to an audience that if Trump gave that order he would not obey it, “and then you know what that means,” allegedly insinuating that the military would no longer respond to his orders.
However, Christopher Miller, the active defense secretary [after Esper was fired] at the time of the second treasonous call to China, said that Milley didn’t get his sign-off and that it “represents a disgraceful and unprecedented act of insubordination by the Nation’s top military officer.”
This wasn’t the first time Milley was accused of undermining civilian control of the US military. He resisted Trump’s effort to withdraw US troops from Afghanistan before he left office on January 20. That attempted coup was eventually shut down by Milley, who reportedly recruited the help of national security adviser Robert O’Brien and Miller to plead with Trump to change his mind. It was alleged but not confirmed that Milley contacted friends in the Pentagon and ordered over 30 drone strikes and at least 8 special ops night raids on Taliban targets to get the terror group to back out of the deal made with Trump. Had Trump gotten his way, we would not have seen the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan that Biden and Milley were responsible for due to their incompetence.
Mark Milley is a danger to our armed forces because he believes that he runs the military and not the civilian Commander-in-Chief. He started out as an Obama Yes Man and ended up as a treasonous woke usurper of Constitutional power.
