After the humiliating defeat in Virginia, where Republicans took the governorship, the Lt Governor, the AG, and the legislature, the liberals blamed suburban moms who voted heavily for Youngkin after voting for Biden just one year earlier. And of course, they blamed it on the old stand-by, racism. That is interesting since there was only one black candidate running and she won. Winsome Sears. But, of course, she is a Republican, therefore she is labeled a white supremacist.
CNN anchor Pamela Brown sat down with four white suburban moms to find out why they supported Biden but not McAuliffe. But, after seeing Biden perform, I’m sure a lot of voters will make the switch.
The four women all voted for Youngkin even though three of them voted for Biden. None of the four are registered, Republicans. But, all four agreed on the reason they voted for Youngkin, education.
The suburban moms said that their kids are lagging in their education due to the lockdow2ns and the liberal programs the schools have installed.
Why does this not make sense to the Democrats? Both Rep AOC and presidential advisor Cedric Richmond are advising Biden to move to the far left. Republicans would love that. It would benefit Republicans and not even they could mess it up. In 2022, it is as important to vote out the RINOs as it is to vote out the Democrats. They are voting with Democrats and that is as bad as them being full-fledged Democrats themselves.
The women said they believe that suburban moms “100%” are the reason Youngkin won, and it boils down to one issue: education. The moms explained that Youngkin’s promise to address the education gaps caused by school lockdowns is what won support from moms all across the Old Dominion.
“Our kids are in crisis. The learning loss is real. So we’re in a situation where our kids are really far behind, and they need a lot of help. They need a lot of additional time after school to help catch them up, and they’re still not focusing on that,” one mom said of the Democratic Party.
Another mom explained that Virginia parents were “very angry, during school closures, at the teacher’s unions.” She said that when McAuliffe brought out American Federation of Teachers president Randi Weingarten on the final day of the campaign, that was the “nail in the coffin.”
The moms also knocked McAuliffe for “campaigning everywhere but Virginia,” and said former President Barack Obama hurt McAuliffe when he dismissed school issues as part of the “phony trumped up culture wars.”
“I just feel they’re really tone-deaf, they’re really dismissive,” one mom said of Democrats. Another added that Democratic rhetoric leading up to the election “reminded us of the school boards.”
