Something I think no one is talking about is the climbing number of dead police officers under Biden. A recent study showed that more cops have been killed under pro-defund Biden than any president going back to 1995. Instead of taking a stand for police, Biden issued a statement recognizing the nonexistent systemic racism within the police force.
The FBI did the math in 2021 and counted at least 73 officers who were intentionally killed in the line of duty. That’s almost up 60% compared to the 46 officers who lost their lives in 2020. Which makes Biden’s statement all the more callous in my opinion.
While officer line-of-duty deaths reached record highs beginning in 2020 due to COVID-19, killings of officers are also up, according to the FBI’s law enforcement officers killed in action (LEOKA) data.
“We believe it’s a combination … of the George Floyd protests — riots, if you will; a general feeling of a preference for less law enforcement; and less prosecution and less policing,” said Jason Johnson, president of the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund (LELDF) and a 20-year police veteran.
“Law enforcement officers have essentially been marginalized and demoralized and cast aside and encouraged now to enforce the law. And so we’ve seen massive jumps in the homicide rate in cities across America.”
The report goes on to explain that the last time more than 72 officers were killed was in 1995, when 74 officers were intentionally killed on the job, according to LEOKA data. The next highest number of officers intentionally killed on duty was 72 in 2011, according to LEOKA data analyzed in a report by the Heartland Institute.
Democrats may have begun their defund-the-police movement back in 2019 but with Biden’s support, all morale for officers has been lost. Cops don’t need kudos, but to have the White House come out against them and offer a blanket statement calling them all racists? I think it’s pretty easy to see how morale might have gotten lost. All Biden did was embolden violent criminals.
