The Urban Empowerment Action PAC (UEA) , a very liberal PAC is putting up one million dollars in order to defeat Tlaib and replace her with Detroit City Clerk Janice Winfrey. The 12th Congressional District in Michigan has been redrawn by adding more conservative areas, which will water down the heavily Arab vote the old district had. The UEA is made up of Blacks and Jews. That puts them at odds with the anti-Semitic Tlaib, who never met a terrorist she didn’t love.
The UEA is “dedicated to the educational empowerment and economic uplift of Black communities.” They put out a release that announced their plans to unseat Tlaib. Tlaib, a notorious anti-Semite and supporter of Palestinian terrorism, has riled many in her caucus that feel the same way she does but wants to keep it on the down-low.
Many are not happy about her constant harping about Joe Biden. They think he gets as much criticism from every voter as it is and in a midterm election year, the popularity of the president is crucial to success.
Tlaib, one of the most liberal and outspoken members of the House Democratic Caucus, has also been a persistent critic of President Joe Biden, delivering her own rebuttal to his State of Union address in March. She was also a “no” vote on Biden’s bipartisan infrastructure bill that was signed into law at the end of last year.
The two-term congresswoman said she voted against it because Democrats were reneging on a promise to pass that legislation alongside an expansive climate and social spending bill, commonly referred to as Build Back Better. By separating the two, she argued, progressives lost their leverage. And to date, Build Back Better remains stalled.
The truth is that the death of Build Back Better was a lifesaver for the Democrats. It would drive up both inflation and energy prices, which are terrible problems for the Democrats as it is. You shouldn’t keep spending money, you don’t have. You may find this almost impossible to believe, but once she is gone, I won’t miss her.
