Sources inside CNN say that Stelter’s firing is within weeks if not days before he gets tossed out on his tail. He knew the new boss was watching to see if he could adapt to the new format, and it is obvious that he can’t. He will probably end up on some obscure liberal conspiracy site. My guess is that there will be more heads rolling, including Don Lemon and Jim Acosta.
CNN has finally come to the reality that when you cater only to the far, far left, your ratings are going to suck. They will probably find a couple of NeverTrump republicans and place them in their line-up to make it appear that they are more diversified. Earlier this year, employees at CNN urged the company to fire Stelter. Now, it appears that they are planning to do just that. The question is when and not if.

It appears that Stelte3r has been speaking to people from other organizations about what is going on inside CNN, while at the same time, he is stirring up trouble with the ranks. No company can put up with that kind of behavior from someone that gets ratings so low that they can slide under a pregnant cockroach without stooping. CNN is trying to change the format in order to make CNN a money making proposition again.
In May, Chris Licht, who has supposedly emphasized less opinion-oriented reporting, became the new head of CNN. Last Sunday, “Reliable Sources” had its worst-rated episode since September 2019, reaching only 580,000 viewers, the smallest audience since September 15, 2019.
In a memo to employees, Licht wrote, “… too many people have lost trust in the news media. I think we can be a beacon in regaining that trust by being an organization that exemplifies the best characteristics of journalism: fearlessly speaking truth to power, challenging the status quo, questioning group-think, and educating viewers and readers with straightforward facts and insightful commentary, while always being respectful of differing viewpoints.”
Licht does have a record of partisanship himself, having served as executive producer for “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
