NASA was able to record the sound coming from a Black Hole some 200 million light years away. The audio has gone mega-viral, having been listened to some 156 million times in 24 hours. Many people described it as sounds coming straight from Hell. (I didn’t know NASA could even pick up sounds within the White House)
The official account tweeted:
“The misconception that there is no sound in space originates because most space is a ~vacuum, providing no way for sound waves to travel. A galaxy cluster has so much gas that we’ve picked up actual sound.”
“Here it’s amplified, and mixed with other data, to hear a black hole!”

Here is what some people have said about the audio from NASA:
“Nasa, on a pleasant august sunday evening: hey wanna hear what’s surely the wailing of souls trapped inside a black hole since the beginning of human existence,” read one popular response.
“Oh neat it’s the sound of demons screaming from the depths of Hell,” said Matt Walsh.
“I’m not religious, but I’m starting to think that those souls sent to Hell actually end up in a black hole,” tweeted an associate professor of planetary science.
“According to NASA, a black hole sounds like billions of souls wailing in anguish from the depths of hell. Neat! I didn’t plan on sleeping anytime in the foreseeable future, anyway,” read another reply.
“Good news everyone! We recorded the sound of a god’s eternal death scream as its collapsing gravity bends light and warps reality!” joked another user.
