Mike Pence, the former Vice President, advised Wednesday that conservative lawmakers should “flood” the zone with strong policy proposals by 2023.

Let’s get the economy back on its feet. Let’s reverse some reckless, irresponsible expenditure by the Biden administration which has been driving inflation,” Pence stated during a question and answer session with Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts after his prepared remarks.

During his appearance at Capitol Hill headquarters of the think tank, Pence stated that “Let’s utilize the power of our purse to demand that they secure America’s border.”

The former vice president stated that Americans will be watching the Nov. 8 midterm elections to see results from conservatives in Congress. “Not posturing, not going onto television shows saying what’s right with the other side but saying here’s our purpose, here’s how we are passing, put this on the president’s table, make him veto and we’ll have an national debate two years from now.”

Pence spoke about the economy and national security as he laid out a Freedom Agenda at The Heritage Foundation, parent organisation of The Daily Signal.

He also addressed “a healthy discussion” in today’s conservative movement.

“Some members of the movement want a simple return back to the Reagan-era conservative agenda. Others believe we should be swept along with the new and energetic sense populism,” Pence stated in his prepared remarks.

I believe we don’t need to choose between the two. The Trump-Pence agenda was, in my opinion, a marriage of an unapologetic dedication to the foundations a conservative agenda with thoughtful popist priorities driven by American aspirations.

Pence, a former governor of Indiana and congressman, said that Trump-Pence’s administration supported traditional conservative goals like a strong national defence, free markets and lower taxes. He also stood for the sanctity and dignity of human life. He said that the Trump-Pence administration also addressed border security and aimed to make trade deals more fair.

Pence stated that conservatives must chart a course that doesn’t veer too far in either direction at this stage in history.

Our movement cannot abandon its foundational commitment to security, limited government, and life. We cannot allow our movement’s reliance on unprincipled populism to lead us astray from our oldest traditions, most cherished values.

Later, Pence addressed the divisions in the conservative movement regarding Russian President Vladimir Putin’s February 24 invasion of Ukraine. He noted that it was no coincidence that the Trump administration is the most recent to not attempt to redraw international borders.

Pence stated, “There cannot be room in the conservative organization for apologists Putin,” “This movement is only for freedom champions.”

The Freedom Agenda reviews successful policies from Reagan through Trump.

Pence stated that protecting life is a key issue.

Pence praised the three Supreme Court justices who were confirmed during his administration and said, “The Supreme Court of the United States sent Roe v. Wade back to the ash pile of history, where it belongs.” “The court gave Americans a new start for their lives. It is not a complete solution.

He said education is another important issue, and that includes defending girls’ sports in school.

Pence stated that Joe Biden pledged in his last State of the Union address to defend the God-given rights’ of men to participate in women’s sport. “We must end the assault on women’s sports being driven primarily by the radical Left and preserve the opportunities for our daughters, and our grandchildren, for generations to follow.”

Former vice president stated that “the antidote to school choice is school choice” and praised Arizona for its new universal school choice law.

Let’s stand up for education freedom. Let’s empower parents. Let’s ensure we promote patriotic education,” Pence stated. “But let’s acknowledge that education is a state function and we must aim to end federal government involvement in education. We should take every federal dollar back to the states and send it to them.”
