A Democratic myth has emerged that ex-President Donald Trump’s denial about the accuracy of the 2020 election results was “unprecedented.”
Unfortunately, the history and outcome of U.S. election is often a tale of both legitimate and illegal election denialism.
All of the 1800, 1824 and 1876 elections were questioned. In some cases, the winner was decided by the partisan House of Representatives.
Al Gore, the 2000 presidential candidate, did not accept Florida’s popular vote results. He spent five weeks contesting the state’s results futilely, until recounts were completed and the Supreme Court certified it.
The Democrats have been denying for years that the accusation that George W. Bush was elected, but not selected, was the ensuing charge.
In their unhinged attempts to overturn the election, Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) and 31 Democratic House members voted against certifying the Ohio election results in 2004. These denialists included Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), the current chairman of the Jan.6 select committee.
The crackpot Democratic orthodoxy held that Trump “colluded with Russia” to “steal” Hillary Clinton’s victory. Clinton claimed that Trump was not a legitimate president. It’s no wonder that she joined #TheResistance loudly to block Trump’s presidency.
Later, Clinton, a serial denialist, urged Joe Biden to not concede the 2020 election if it was lost.
Jill Stein, a left-wing third party candidate and denialist, was unsuccessfully sued in court to disqualify voting machines results in preselected countries.
In 2016, a Hollywood C-list actor host denialist cut television commercials asking members of the Electoral College not to break their oaths to flip the election to Clinton.
Clinton had herself hired Christopher Steele, a foreign national, to create a dossier full of lies to denigrate her 2016 opponent, Trump.
Clinton’s failed attempts were taken up by the FBI. It also paid Steele’s ancillaries in vain to “verify the dossier’s lies.”
A FISA court was also misled by the bureau about the authenticity of the dossier. A document was altered by an FBI lawyer as part of a government attempt to disrupt a presidential transition.
The Clinton-FBI Russian collusion hoax was only a part of the progressive effort against the 2016 election result.
The Washington Post boasted about the various groups that were formed to impeach Trump during his first days in office. This was under the pretext that he was illegitimately reelected.
Rosa Brooks, a Pentagon lawyer for the Obama administration, wrote a lengthy denialist essay in Foreign Policy detailing a strategy to remove Trump, less than two months after his inauguration. She discussed the options for impeachment, the 25th Amendment, and even a military coup.
After the election results were clear, Madonna famously shouted to a large crowd that she hoped to blow up the White House, possibly with the Trump family.
This was not the most violent form election denialism?
Stacey Abrams , a election denier, became a media hero and left-wing cult hero. Abrams made a living out of her absurd denialism (“voter suppression”), stumping the country between 2018 and 2021, claiming (without evidence) that the 2018 Georgia gubernatorial elections were rigged. She lost by more than 50,000 votes.
Molly Ball, Time magazine’s Molly Ball, wrote a triumphant essay in which she claimed that in 2020, a combination Big Tech money from Silicon Valley -fueled by Mark Zuckerberg’s $419 million infusion – absorbed the balloting collection.
Ball boasted of careful pre-election censorship of the current news by Big Tech. That effort spread the lie that Hunter Biden’s laptop scandal was Russian disinformation.
In an effort to help the Biden campaign, left-wing interest groups manipulated the often violent Black Lives Matter or Antifa street protests in 2020.
Ball described the left-wing election engineering conspiracy as “a conspiracy taking place behind the scenes” and called the secret history of 2020 election “the secret history.”
So who were these “secret” warpers in the 2020 election?
Ball said it best: “A well-funded cabal consisting of powerful people from different industries, working together behind closed doors to influence perceptions and change laws, steer media coverage, and control the flow information.”
It is perfectly permissible to question the legality and probity of these left-wing attempts in key states to repeal long-standing voting laws passed through state legislatures.
Then came a larger effort to make Election Day a relic of American history. On Election Day, more than 100 million ballots weren’t cast. The vast majority of them were (and by design) Biden vote votes. Somehow, customary ballot-disqualification rates of mail-in ballots in some states plunged–even as their numbers exploded.
The 2020 “cabal” was the most dangerous form of election interference. The FBI, Silicon Valley and street protesters conspired to achieve the “right outcome.”
Evidently, this “conspiracy” was the response of denialists to Trump’s 2016 victory. They never accepted it.
