ite a high early-vote turnout, the White House insists on ‘Voter Suppression’ claims in Georgia

Georgia’s election laws were allegedly so restrictive that President Joe Biden visited Atlanta in January. He stated, “Jim Crow 2.0” is about two insidious matters–voter suppression, and election subversion. This is not hyperbole. This is a fact.

On Thursday, however, Georgia Secretary of States Brad Raffensperger announced that 1.13 Million Georgians had already voted early in Peach State. This is compared to 730,706 at the same time in 2018.

In fact, this year’s early voting is almost equal to the 2020 presidential election. The turnout for presidential election years is usually significantly higher than that for midterms.

Not only that, but Georgia’s primary season saw a 168% increase compared to 2018.

After passage of the Georgia electoral reforms in 2021 Biden described the Georgia election reform law as “[t]his makes Jim Crow seem like Jim Eagle.”

Biden stated earlier this year that the U.S. 2022 election was not going to be “legit” because Democrats failed to pass changes to federal election laws to nullify the election integrity laws in Georgia, and 18 other states. Argument is that there would not be enough suppression to make it legitimate.

The early voting in Georgia is now at an all-time high, but the White House continues to support its “voter suppression” line.

“What I am trying to say is that generally speaking, and more broadly speaking, it is possible for higher voter turnout as well as voter suppression to occur at the same time,” White House press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated to reporters on Tuesday, without providing any evidence. “One doesn’t have to happen by itself. Both can happen simultaneously. I won’t go into detail about the politics, but that’s okay.

As I write in my new book The Myth of Voter Suppression, logic and evidence have never been required for the Left to commit to this narrative.

Jean-Pierre answered the question, “Is there any instances of voter suppression occurring in Georgia and other states who adopted these laws in the last two years?” Jean Pierre said, “Look, We–We have seen, ourselves. I just laid out what legislation–state legislations we have seen across this country that suppress the right to vote.”

Democrats have warned about systemic voter suppression since the passage of voter ID laws in 2000. They also claimed that it would target racial minority groups.

Georgia was one of 19 states to pass election reforms in 2021 to expand ID requirements for absentee ballots and crack down on ballot harvesting.

Voter turnout has increased across all demographics, both then and now.

“Looking at Georgia’s demographics so far, voter enthusiasm is driving voter enthusiasm as tightly contested races are for U.S. Senate and governor,” Georgia Public Broadcasting reported.

A Gallup poll found that 79% of Americans support voter identification laws. However, the poll found less support for voter rolls maintenance.

Americans support electoral integrity measures and the higher voter turnout likely reflects growing confidence.
