Types of Hypocrisy // (John Hinderaker).
If you can be called a hypocrite and that is all anyone can say about you, then congratulations! You are on the fast track towards Heaven. Hypocrisy can be a good thing, as hypocrites tend to uphold a standard that they and others are expected to adhere to.
This is what I have always believed, anyway.
There are two types of hypocrisy. One is worse than the other. Hypocrites are people who, in public, uphold a moral or good principle but then violate it in private. This is not admirable but there is something to be said about it.
The second type of hypocrite is someone who promotes an evil principle and helps to worsen the situation of others while following a better standard in their own lives. This is a very bad form of hypocrisy, and it is so harmful to the less fortunate. Peter Schweizer’s Do as I Say (Not as I Do): Profiles of Liberal Hypocrisy is a great book to learn more. Liberals advocate for bad policies in public sphere while adhering to conservative principles when it is about themselves and their families.
This more vicious type hypocrisy is best illustrated by Ilhan Omar. She doesn’t like law enforcement and campaigns for defunding the police. But she does not care about her safety. Men with guns. Alpha News reports:
Federal filings show that Rep. Ilhan Omran’s campaign dropped tens to thousands of dollars on private security services after she called for defunding the police and supported a campaign to dismantle Minneapolis Police Department.
Federal Election Commission records show that the campaign spent $27.081.14 on security services between July and September. This is the highest quarter yet.
According to federal filings, her campaign paid $83,000 to private security companies between May 2019 and July 2019.
This totals to more than $110,000. Many thousands of Omar’s low and middle-income constituents who live in Minneapolis and its inner-tier suburbs with high-crime, would love to spend $100,000+ to help their families and themselves. They can’t afford it. Omar would not be able to afford it, except that she is a left-wing celebrity politician.
Ilhan to her constituents : It is too bad about the violence that is making your life difficult. I will do my best to make your situation worse by attacking law enforcement and encouraging the defunding of the police. But hey Jack, I got mine! I don’t have to rely upon any understaffed, underfunded or viciously compromised police force. I have my own private security, paid by wealthy liberals across the nation Keep voting for me!
This is the most vile form of hypocrisy.
