CNN defends Vandalism: Which is more important? Art or The Planet?

Thursday’s CNN Tonight host Laura Coates defended climate change lunatics. They have spent the last few months gluing themselves to walls and throwing food at irreplaceable art in an attempt to convince sane people that humans can control the weather. The disgraced actress Hanoi Jane Fonda told Coates that this tactic was not helpful to the left’s radical climate agenda.

Fonda was asked by Coates what she thought of the food being thrown onto works of art to attract attention. “Do you think this tactic is something that is getting attention and moving the needle in the same way that your work?”

Fonda, who has a history of embarrassment in public for her anti American causes, didn’t think this was a good idea. Fonda stated that although it attracts attention, she believes it angers people.

Fonda said, “I have avoided blocking freeways and other things that will — you’re aware, the average person wants dinner at home or to get to their kids in school,” Fonda said.

She continued, “I’m against doing things that will make the average worker angry because it affects their lives and livelihoods.”

Coates seemed to agree with her guest. She said that “some argue that it affects how they view the overall movement.” This could be counterproductive,” she said, adding the caveat that “you never know.”

Coates called Alisyn Camerota after Fonda left. She was able to analyze the interview.

Coates said that Fonda was her “response to the tactics being used now because it’s getting a lot attention in terms defacing artwork and what it means and that overall discussion.”

Coates still addressed Camerota and asked, “What’s more important to your heart, this art, or the long-term sustainability of our planet?”

Coates seems to think this is a difficult question. Coates seems to think that the “sustainability” of our planet is more important than priceless artwork, since Earth isn’t in danger in any way.

LAURA COATES – I am curious about the way you have approached it from fire drill Fridays to beyond, the consistency with which you have gone about it. What do you think of what we see in some art museums, in certain areas of the globe where people throw food on revered works of artwork to draw attention to? Is this a tactic that you believe is getting attention and moving the needle?

JANE FONDA : It definitely gets attention, but it also makes people mad. I’ve been arrested many times for civil disobedience. This is when you do things that are contrary to the law, if it is wrong. But I have avoided blocking freeways or things that would — you know, the average person just wants to get home for dinner, or to see their kids at school, so I don’t particularly understand the anger. I don’t support doing things that make average workers angry. It affects their lives and it affects their work.

COATES: Some argue that it could affect their view of the overall movement. This could be counterproductive.

FONDA: Possibly.

COATES: You never really know. But I don’t know much other than the amount of work being done and the work through PAC. I thank you for coming to our evening and making sure that the lines and bridges are drawn for the electorate regarding what’s on the ballot, even if some things seem like they’re in ink. Jane, thank you.

FONDA: Thanks a lot. I appreciate being here. Thanks.

COATES: We are grateful.

ALISYN CAMEROTA – Really interesting.

COATES: Wasn’t it? It’s interesting to think about her response about the tactics being used because that’s attracting a lot attention in terms defacing artwork and what it means. What do you think is more important, the art or the long-term sustainability of our planet? It’s fascinating.
