A federal court ordered Dr. Anthony Fauci and other former Biden officials to be deposed in a lawsuit that could have a lasting effect on freedom of speech online.
Eric Schmitt, Missouri Attorney General, and Jeff Landry, Louisiana Attorney General, filed a lawsuit earlier this year accusing the Biden Administration of conspiring with social media companies in order to censor content to stop the spread of “misinformation.”
Schmitt announced Friday that the United States District Court for The Western District of Louisiana granted Schmitt’s request to depose former and current top officials from Biden’s administration. These included Dr. Anthony Fauci, and Jennifer Psaki, former White House Press Secretary.
The court granted the deposition requests and stated:
“Plaintiffs have shown that Dr. Fauci is intimately familiar with the issue of censorship on social media in relation to COVID-19, and other ancillary issues. The Court has recognized that Dr. Fauci is a high ranking official, particularly since he is the Director of National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and Chief medical advisor to the President. According to the Court, Dr. Fauci’s only potential burden as a result his deposition is that of his time.”
Deposed witnesses will be required to testify under oath regarding their actions in relation to the allegations made in the lawsuit.
Schmitt stated in a press release that the depositions would “force these officials into coming clean to the American people.”
He said that he had found evidence of a collusion between the Biden Administration (and social media companies) to censor free speech and that he immediately filed a motion for these officials to be taken under oath. “It is high-time we shine a spotlight on this censorship enterprise, and force these officials into coming clean to the American people. This ruling will allow us do that. We will continue to press for the truth.”

Psaki told the truth that the administration flagged “disinformation” related to the pandemic on Facebook 2021.
