Fetterman’s condition: What did the media know and when?

The debate between the Pennsylvania Senate candidates (Democrat Lieutenant Governor John Fetterman, Republican Dr. Mehmet O) has been concluded.

Here are some headlines about the performance by the stroke-inflicted Democrat, with a zillion eyes in Pennsylvania watching the televised showdown.

The New York Post’s John Podhoretz: The John Fetterman Debate was painful and shameful — he is physically unable to be a senator

Fox News – Panicking’ Dems tell NBC that they regret Fetterman agreeing for Oz to debate them: ‘Folks pretty much freaking.’ (The subhead is: “One Democrat strategist stated that anyone on his team who agreed for a debate should either be fired or never work again.

The Washington Post – Some Fetterman supporters see a poor debate show. They are determined to support him.

Axios – Fetterman’s painful debate

The revealing posts by various media outlets continue to show that the stroke-stricken Democratic nominee had a very bad debate. The fact that Mr. Fetterman was still suffering from stroke-related symptoms, prompted a bad debate.

Now the media question: What is the shocking moment in media history?

The answer is simple, and it’s not good. The reason Fetterman’s performance caused such a collective shock – by “panicked Democrats”, and others – was that once Fetterman’s stroke was revealed, the media tried cover the true condition of Fetterman.

This story about the media cover-up by NBC’s Dasha burns is a prime example. It follows her comments on Fetterman’s interview. Breitbart has this headline about the reaction of her own network, NBC, to her “simple-the-facts” comments about Fetterman’s interview.

Dasha Burns, NBC News Journalist, Reports on Democrat John Fetterman’s Closed captioning, Interview Aid goes Unsupported by Network

The following story was reported:

Dasha Burns, NBC News journalist, reported Tuesday on John Fetterman, Democratic Senate candidate. The report was immediately countered by the network and framed as speculation.

After Burns’s six-year tenure at NBC News, her network rejected the scathing report. Fetterman was interviewed by the Pennsylvania Democrat and it was revealed that Fetterman needed closed captioning in order to understand Burns’ questions.

This was the headline from Fox News

Insiders say that Fetterman report by NBC reporter was ‘pathetic’ and ‘wrong’

Former NBC News producer warns about the ‘chilling effect’ against journalists covering Fetterman and other Democrats

Fox reported:

Dasha Burns, a NBC journalist, was vilified last week by media peers after she pointed out that John Fetterman, Pennsylvania Democratic Senate Candidate, had difficulty communicating with her. Media insiders and experts expressed private disgust at this backlash and warned of a chilling effect on other reporters.

Burns was subject to a torrent of criticisms for a simple observation. Some insiders in the industry noted that Burns was not receiving as much support from the public because of their sensitivity to Trump’s attacks and rallied behind journalists he denigrated.

One MSNBC insider praised her efforts, telling Fox News Digital some NBC employees had been “pathetic” in their criticisms of Burns, and had clearly displayed their bias towards Fetterman, who is running for a crucial Senate race against Republican Dr. Mehmet O.

Legal Insurrection had this headline:

Journalists Attack NBC Reporter after She Admitted John Fetterman Had a ‘Hard Time” With ‘Small Talk,’ Without Closed Captioning

“A NBC reporter is subject to a liberal media attack over her interview with John Fetterman, Pennsylvania Democratic Senate candidate, and her comment that he had difficulty understanding their conversation on-camera.”

In other words: Consider the open left-wing bias in mainstream media.

Instead of investigating and doing its research on the situation and reporting it to Pennsylvania voters and all of the nation, the media instinct was to cover for Fetterman. When Fetterman agreed to that one-on-one debate with Oz, debate-watchers everywhere took a deep breath. It was a moment of pure shock. And this is for one reason.

The media signaled that it was not there to cover Fetterman, but to protect him – by not digging into Fetterman’s condition and attacking NBC’s Dasha burns for simply and objectively reporting her observations,

This is to say that liberal media has suffered yet another self-inflicted setback.
