Democrats will lose a trusted ally when Trevor Noah leaves Comedy Central’s The Daily Show. On Tuesday, Noah defended an ad by Rep. Eric Swalwell that showed a woman being arrested for having an abortion. This suggests that it is possible.
Noah created a video of the ad and stated that “the main issue Democrats are running for is reproductive rights and California Congressman Eric Swalwell just released one of the most hardcore campaign ads you have ever seen.”
Two police officers arrive at the home of a four-member family to advertise. The officer responds to the woman’s declaration that her abortion is “my personal business”, saying, “That’s for you to decide ma’am.” Your medical records have been requested and Dr. Landrieu is already in custody.
The officer continued, “We will have you submit to a physical exam.” The husband of the woman raises his hand to declare “no one is touching her wife!” and the officers draw their guns to arrest the woman. They then take her away from her children.
The ad ends with a warning from the narrator: “Elections have consequences.” Vote Democrat for November 8th.
Noah reacted to the ad and marvelled at its effectiveness. It was intense. It’s not common for a campaign to become an episode of Black Mirror.
Swalwell and Noah cannot cite any pro-life law that states women will be taken into custody or forced to have physical examinations. Noah, however, claimed that while Noah exaggerated the point, Noah maintained that cops could still come to your home in many states if you have an abortion. They could arrest you or force you to undergo a physical exam. Ironically, it’s the only free healthcare you’ll ever receive in America.
PolitiFact hasn’t fact-checked Swalwell in the meantime since May 2019, and the last time it checked Noah was 2015.

POLICE OFFICER – We will need to conduct a physical examination.
ANDERSON: What? By who?
HUSBAND: My wife is not being touched by anyone! [Screaming]
POLICE OFFICER – Sir! Get back!

It is amazing, it is crazy, how Roe was overturned has offended society to the point where white women can be just as afraid of police as blacks. Yes, the ad is exaggerated to make a point, but it’s true that cops in many states could knock on your door if there was an abortion. They could arrest you or force you to undergo a physical exam. Ironically, this is probably the only free healthcare you’ll ever receive in America.
